Nice thoughts. Yes it would skew a perception of their own world so it would make it hard to change. Since most lies affect our own perceptions....good thoughts to ponder.
I suppose it also makes it difficult for the ones affected to trust that they truly have indeed changed, so the cause of the lies may never truly be rectified on the victim either.
the tragedy of loss of trust can take many years to rectify, even for the poor offender. I suppose the best route to take is "be a sucker and believe them", but carefully. However is that really trust? Tough one to find the correct way to apply mercy
