Why no gravity that doesn't make sense?

The moon's gravity is 1/6 that of Earths, and there is no water to create a vapor barrier held by gravity to the surface. Hence, no atmosphere which is the gases and water vapor that make an "atmosphere" in the sense the word is being used here. Our atmosphere is all the oxygen,nitrogen, etc and water vapor being held to about a 60+ mile surface altitude above our planet - by gravity / rotational centrifugal forces. Very simple and not entirely complete explanation, but it is what the moon doesn't do.
