Watch Tesla's Gigafactory Opening With Me Andrarchy

in #tesla8 years ago

Well this is a weird one. I love watching the videos that Tesla releases and I think that they often contain a lot of actionable intel that many people ignore. People think that GAAP v. Non-GAAP accounting is the important stuff, but I often find that the subjective impressions one can get from listening to Musk and Straubel talk to be much more valuable.

This is only helped by the fact that they, Musk in particular, rarely prepare heavily for these events. Unlike Steve Jobs who refined his presentation meticulously, Musk and Straubel rely on their intimate understanding of the technical details to enable them to talk intelligently on the main points without necessarily memorizing every word. But a consequence of this is that they are too busy trying to articulate their points to craft any kind of facade, so we can gain a better insight into what they're really thinking and feeling.

Watching them speak I can tell whether they still believe in what they are doing, whether they are still passionate about their collective endeavor, or alternatively if there might be something they're hiding. This is just some of the stuff I think about while watching these videos, so I figured this time we could watch the video together and I would share my thoughts as we're watching it! I finish off the video by pointing out something that I felt was conspicuously missing from the presentation but that I think will be critically important for the company.

Sort:

~22'00 -> looks like a CPU, I agree, had the idea on my lips at the very time you said it in the video. Actually, it reminds me even more of one of these crazy redstone machines in Minecraft, of which 16-bit ALUs is only one variety. The amount of geekery involved in optimizing that plant must have been pretty high.

"Waste is bad" this is your skill. To see these simple things and building on them. Your knowledge is valuable

I just applied at the Gigafactory again because of your video. I was turned down for a lead position earlier and was discouraged.

If you get the job, please consider making some article over here to share what it's like to be working for Tesla.

I can't wait, I will.
Here's a picture with bad lighting of my latetest resume.

Version 4, 3D printed mind assisted heliplane

The video is of version 3, I hope it helps me get the job. The X on the end of HeliPlaneX is giving respect to Elon and his companies. It's been that name since the Hyperloop idea was put out.

Holy crap master that's dope!

Thank you for watching, you're awesome.

@andrarchy: did you read Atlas Shrugged? The rise of Tesla and SpaceX in the midst of economic and intellectual decadence, disbelief, scorn and pontification from self-appointed "experts" has strong parallels with the rise of the John Galt Line and Rearden Metal in Atlas Shrugged. It's almost caricatural.

Reg. your argument about looking at people's character, passion, vision, intelligence rather than being obsessed by figures and projection, that's the type of approach VCs are taking to evaluate the potential of companies they invest in. You'd probably make a good VC. Are you investing in other companies? In these times of bearish equity market, I'm looking for good stocks to handpick that have chances to significantly outperform the (sluggish) economy. I'd be really interested to hear your views on other companies you are following.

STEEMIT IS TOAST. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
Full $teem Ahead!
@andrarchy Nice post. @recursive , don't have any stock picks for you, but @streetstyle

What what price point would you buy a tesla at? id say 25k

I would buy at maybe 30-40k as the new tesla model is advertised at that price. :D

Hahaha very sound logic

I am not sure about that.

good video I love it
This made me very interested

wow amazing video and very good

Unlike Steve Jobs why the enhanced percentage careful?

I think Elon Musk is the only person on this would who would have permission from Tesla himself to create a company named Tesla.
