HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!

in #thanksgiving6 years ago

To all the wonderful people I have met on Steemit, may you have a blessed day!

This is a holiday filled with the most precious aspects of our lives, family and friends
It is a time to give thanks for all we have.

I have never have to have been called to the table more than once.
Around here, you snooze you lose!

Time to dig in.

What is a good meal without some adult refreshments!

So helpful, mom loves it.

Usually if you help prepare the meal, you are exempt from doing any dishes.

That usually puts me on dish detail. In this situation my son and daughter in-law helped prepare, and after the feast they started doing the in enviable task of doing the dishes.

I was not going to interrupt the fun they seemed to be having.

It is also a time to remember loved ones, who I know are watching over us.

When we sit down at the dinner table with friends, family, and more food then one can possible consume, we all need to remember those who are less fortunate. The operative word in Thanksgiving is Giving!!

Nice to see you enjoying your family @thebigsweed! Yep, he cardinal rule of “I cook you clean” is popular one. Trust me, when we are cooking we are constantly cleaning too. It’s a lot of work. Way to take a load off the chef guys!

Enjoy your holiday and your leftovers, I hear that’s the best part.

I'm a stacker. Sometimes when my wife goes to Jersey, I stay HOME.

Depending on how long she is away, determines how many dishes will be left in the cabinets.
If she is gone for more than 4 days, it's a good thing we have a dishwasher.
When she gets home, as long as her kitchen is just like she left it (SPOTLESS) I'm good to go.

Just like we left it, you got that right. Dandays is really good about doing the dishes since he’s a tidy freak anyway. Now if I can just get him to wipe the counters we’ll be talking. :)

I know that there would be hell to pay if it were left any other way.
Robin has always been a Ms. Clean and I love the way she enjoys our kitchen.
The kitchen she prepares all of these wonderful meals in we designed together and then I took our ideas and went to town.
The entire kitchen was renovated over the first year of our retirement.
All the cabinets were made by my sons and myself.
The lumber for the cabinets came from our property. Black Walnut and Spalted Maple.
Her are a few pics we took during construction.

Kitchen all done😁😁😁.
The last thing to do is the flooring, have about 60% left to do, after that the entire house will be done.👌👌👌

A clean kitchen is a happy kitchen!

I don't know if you guys are football fans, but go giants!

Man, what a gorgeous kitchen. I love the cabinets and even more so knowing that the family had their hand in making them. The sitting table is beautiful too. It reminds me of a big cutting board my had when I was a little girl (thanks for the fond memory).

A clean kitchen is the best kitchen. I will eat food I drop from the floor and if I can’t then my kitchen is too dirty. Dandays is really good and helping me out but let’s face it, he’ll never get the place as clean as I do. It’s alright though, I reward his efforts with good food.

Hey, so awesome you hit a curie trail. Was that your first time? Dandays and I were so happy for you when it hit :)

This is where my wife and I plan on cooking for the remainder of our time. In the past I have taken three different homes and renovated all of them including the kitchen. It seemed like I would just complete all of the work and we would sell, leaving behind all the luxuries of a modern kitchen for someone else to enjoy.
At least when I finished the renovations on our last home, including the kitchen, we sold the home to my son @ryan 313.
Whehever we visit them, we still get to enjoy all the hard work we did on that home back in NJ.

This is Robin's dream kitchen, and to have her keep it as neat as a pin, just tells me how much she really appreciates it.

I did get curie to up-vote one other post in the past. When you boot up the computer, and realize that a post has received this level of attention, it is very motivating.
Here is the link for the other post curie up-voted.

That’s cool, good for you guys! I’ll be looking forward to what comes out of that kitchen for food fight Friday now :). Maybe with a little finesse, Robin will join us too!

Thanks for the compliment. Family is everything to me. With all of the distractions ,financial responsibilities, tempetations, rearing, outside obligations, etc. I thank the the Lord that my wife and I were always on the same page. We would raise our children and not have both of us chase the almighty dollar. One of us was always tending to the family.

Even with the financial struggles that this caused, we stuck too our guns.

That decision has been justly rewarded!!

haha! looks like a wonderful time sir bigsweed! great job on another excellent post.

Thanks for your continued support.

Did you see all of the attention his food fight post is getting?! Dang.. I haven’t heard from the guy since like Thursday!

haha! yes sir! it's a tremendous post, looks like it took tons of time to put together so it deserves the attention and we have you to thank for that right? lol. Good job sir dandays and good job sir bigsweed! A winning combination. You are both a gift to this platform!
Hey when you get that kind of attention you only need to post when you feel like it!

Thanks for the family photos. Lovely to see.

Thanks for the compliment! It is a wonderful to be able to share the holidays with the ones nearest to your 💖💖💖

Always appreciated! Always humbled!
