“I knew there were no guarantees. No way of knowing what came next for me, or him, or anything. Some things don't last forever, but some things do. Like a great song, or a good book, or a good memory you can take out and unfold in your darkest times, pressing down the corners and peering close, hoping you still see the person you see there . . . That was the thing, you just never knew. Right now, though, I wanted not to think forward or backward, but only to lose myself in the words.” ― Sarah Dessen
❤ Treasure the Moments ❤
Nothing is cast in stone, time is fleeting...
and in the blink of an eye... life passes us by.
Don't forget to inhale the moments as they tick past -
because once they have crossed your path,
they are indeed lost forever,
other than to recesses of memory and imagination.
Enjoy them!
Revel in them...
Each and EVERY one
Good or bad - they all have lessons and silver linings!

Really Motivated...
This is a very nice poem and I enjoyed reading it greatly. Well done :)
I hope I am not overstepping my bounds but as one poet to another I have couple questions. Why do you keep the us in "Life passes us by"? And when you say "Enjoy them! Revel in them..." Why keep the in? And where you say "tick past" I would have said trickle past but that's just more the types of metaphors I choose.
I wonder about those two words though because your poem has a very nice flow too it and those two words feel deliberate but also an interruption to how I would have spoken that flow.
