I just landed at Melbourne airport and have a short stop prior to boarding for my flight to Tasmania which lands around 2130 tonight. I'm going there to attend my brothers graduation. I'm sipping a coffee right now, no donut though...OK, donut too, and just watching the world go by whilst I wait for my boarding call.
I didn't have a very good farewell from Faith this afternoon as she was working when my limo turned up to transport me to the airport. OK, no limo, my mother in law took me. So, I feel sort of not quite right about having left without a proper farewell.
My wife and I have been together for a long time, 32 years in fact and married for 26 of them and, believe it or not, we are still in love...Aww, yeah I know right? We understand that we can't always be as close as would like and sometimes have parted like this, with only a few cursory words and a quick peck; It always feels odd.
I watched a couple at Adelaide before boarding who were obviously upset about separating. It was quite tearful and whilst I don't know the story I thought it was kind of nice. They said things, a lot of things, and to my understanding, didn't leave much unsaid. It was nice.
Sitting here now it makes me think about unsaid things, and not necessarily just when one is about to board a plane. Just in general everyday life. We never know what life holds and when we may see someone for the last time...Leaving things unsaid? Hmm, it doesn't feel right to me.
Taking the time to say the things we feel are incredibly important in my opinion...Saying thank you, I appreciate you, I love you...One never knows when the sun might set on the opportunity to do so and regret makes a poor, but life-long companion.
Anyway, I'm off to call Faith and say some words as I know she'll be finished work now and is probably wondering why I haven't called. I won't tell her it was because I was writing this...But I'll say I love you.
I wish you all a nice weekend and hope you design and create your best version of life.
Design and create your ideal life, don't live it by default

Amazing view!
Grazie mille.
Howdy sir galenkp! Totally agree..I don't have anything to add. lol.
Nuff said ya reckon?
Yes sir. Hey I sent you 10 steem today for the League win this week, congratulations on that! Nobody close to you, you can cruise.
Grazie mille good sir. Note necessary of course, but I'm grateful.
I'll not be up there this week...Just too much happening. It's all I can do to actually get a post out to be honest.
Thanks for that though, much obliged.
My pleasure and it's more of an accomplishment given your hectic schedule. Most people couldn't do half of what you do! You might be surprised at the results, that happened to me one time when our internet was down for two days so my numbers were pitiful but it just so happened that no one else did anything that week and I still won it.
We'll see...My engagement is well down now though as work is busy plus my brother got here. I just don't have the time. Still, we'll see how I go.

Awwww... what a heartfelt, loving, affectionate article this is!
I appreciate you, @galenkp! Have a safe trip, and take care 🥰🌺🤙
Thanks SS888. I'm passionate about everything I do. I believe it's the solid foundation on which everything else rests. If one has it, applies it, all else just falls into place. I mean at work, at play and certainly in relationships too. If one has passion for something all the other things required to design and create the best version of it simply occur as a matter of course...
Just my belief.
Thank you, I will. Just away for the weekend to see my brother graduate. Have yourself a great weekend also.
Well articulated, and kudos my friend @galenkp! Incredible personal belief 💪🏻👍🥰🌺🤙.

Thanks mate.
Yes, we never know that. Sometimes things happen that you have never thought would happen.
While reading your post, it reminds me of my grandmother. I saw her last year. After that, I didn't get a chance to see her again. She left us all forever.
When we have time, we can express our feelings about how much we love our family. As long as the people whom you love are happy and healthy, what else do you to be happy?
Thank you, @galenkp. Have a great weekend!
Sorry to hear about your grandmother. Yes, life is too short to waste. Thanks for dropping by.
Yes, it is important to leave sweet words before parting with your loved ones. Many take it for granted. We never know what would happen next. Sometimes unexpected things do happen. Events passed can't be turn back. Thanks for reminding.
Agreed and you're welcome. Thanks for stopping by.

You are very sweet and thoughtful, You wife will love the gesture :)
Oh thanks, yes she did. 🙂 Hope you're well.
I am up and down thankfully more up. :) Thanks for asking. Hope your well?
I'm well and am glad to hear you mostly are. 😊
Thank you :)
Thank your for sharing your perspectives. It stirs my feeling and great reminder to me to be more expressive on my feeling.. Have a safe journey and enjoy your time with your brother. Take care!
Thank you and also thanks for taking the time to leave a message.
Don't be sad, the good thing we have mobiles these days. Imagine back in the day when the only way to communicate was writing letters.
And you had to have that doughnut! Next time at least get a muffin, it's little bit healthier, lol.
By the way, beautiful sunset again!
Ah yes, spread the love between donuts and muffins...Good plan!
No more donuts for you, lol
Lol
My hubby and I have been together since '87 as well! I hear you on the cursory goodbyes feeling strange (even when it's as simple as his leaving for work in the morning), but I feel like that's an awesome sign that there is still genuine affection in the gesture, and it hasn't become rote (if that makes sense). I hope you had a good followup goodbye phone call, and a wonderful weekend.
I agree with you and think that it's the small things that combine to make the whole rather than periods of nothing interspersed by a magnanimous gesture here or there.
Exactly - I'd much rather have my husband do little things, like reaching for my hand as we walk into a store, than to take me out for a big anniversary dinner because it was "expected" he should make a grande gesture. It's those quiet moments that speak volumes.
I like this line.
Every day is Valentines day in my household...Well, except those days where I'
m in trouble and Faith needs to attitude-adjust me. 😂
LOL! Sounds familiar, although I think
I'm in trouble more oftenhubby and I split our time being in trouble equally... 😂 😂Oh you're a trouble maker huh? Good at being bad. As long as when you're bad he's good and vice versa then it all balances out.
That's what we try for - however, I'm sure our three kids would likely say we fail most times... 😂
What a passionate article @galenkp. And humourous. I love the way you write. Grateful that @lenasveganliving resteemed so that I didn't miss this
Hey there, thanks for stopping by and thanks to Lena for resteeming. I really appreciate your comments on my writing, and in general. Engagement is one of the big rewards here for me and I value it. I tend to apply passion to all I do generally and I guess that comes out in my writing too.
Have a great day/night.
Night ;) I'm in South Africa. I agree with you about the engagement. I used to be part of the Engagement League but then pregnancy demanded more attention and I have barely posted in the past year. I love passionate writing. And Lena really finds some gems. It's always special to find that on this platform
Maybe you'll post some more now?
I've been on here for 2.5 years and have posted on average 1.5 times per day for every single day here. I enjoy it and the subsequent banter that comes along sometimes.
I'm in SA too...Well, SA (South Australia). Same, but different. 😉
Same but different! You also have marmite
Ours is Vegemite. The English eat Marmite.
Oh yes! We also have marmite. But then our origins are Dutch and British. I had a Australian friend that ate marmite. But his immediate grandparents were British, which explains a lot
Sitting here catching up on a few of You fine Steemians past weeks postings makes Me want to say "Thank You. "
And now I have to feed this Monster Cat. He is PURRING very loudly as i write this reply. And another is figure 8 rubbing on my ankle.
