RE: Unsaid things

in #thoughts5 years ago

My hubby and I have been together since '87 as well! I hear you on the cursory goodbyes feeling strange (even when it's as simple as his leaving for work in the morning), but I feel like that's an awesome sign that there is still genuine affection in the gesture, and it hasn't become rote (if that makes sense). I hope you had a good followup goodbye phone call, and a wonderful weekend.

I agree with you and think that it's the small things that combine to make the whole rather than periods of nothing interspersed by a magnanimous gesture here or there.

Exactly - I'd much rather have my husband do little things, like reaching for my hand as we walk into a store, than to take me out for a big anniversary dinner because it was "expected" he should make a grande gesture. It's those quiet moments that speak volumes.

those quiet moments that speak volumes

I like this line.

Every day is Valentines day in my household...Well, except those days where I'
m in trouble and Faith needs to attitude-adjust me. 😂

LOL! Sounds familiar, although I think I'm in trouble more often hubby and I split our time being in trouble equally... 😂 😂

Oh you're a trouble maker huh? Good at being bad. As long as when you're bad he's good and vice versa then it all balances out.

That's what we try for - however, I'm sure our three kids would likely say we fail most times... 😂

They're kids...Whatta they know! 🤣
