Trump Told Russians, Not Congress, About Attack

Donald Trump told Russians, but not Congressional leaders, about his impending attack on Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, raising more of the same questions that have been floating around for years

#Thoughts on this one?

Oh sure, tell congress, so democrats can leak the information and let the terrorist flee. Russia has been playing a major role in combatting ISIS way before the USA stepped in. They should take credit for that. And the reason Trump "talked" to Russia about the raid, is to coordinate military operations. Instead of thanking Trump for getting rid of the most vicious terrorist in modern times, you guys look for fantasy reasons to bitch about it. Al-Baghdadi is dead, that's the bottom line, remember that.

Trump is someone who seems to have imbalanced midset, in order to get ahead he's being continuously taking drastic decisions which has dug his own path back while everyone else gets a new reason to criticize him whenever he makes a new move. In this case too, it clearly seems like he's giving the Russians more priority than his own countrymen.

He is just trying to show something that he wanna let people see about him which he himself can't really be !

Just wanna see him get replaced real quicK !!

2020 Elections come fast man !

Kurds made the mission possible, but Trump thanked Russians instead.
Trump kept US leaders in the dark, but gave Russians the heads up.
The intel community were heroes here, but Trump attacks these patriots constantly.

If you had bothered to listen to the announcement or read the transcript, Trump pointed out contributions made by both the Kurds and the intel community along with others who were instrumental to the missions success.
The Russians also have military assets in the area that had to be alerted to the raid in order to prevent possible engagement of the US forces. (done all the time)

I heard similar tonight, they flew over Russian airspace to get to the location. That's all that was said, they didn't elaborate on whether it was actually over Russia or over Russian troops in Syria.

Trump is not a normal president; if anything, he has been very candid about how outrageous he can be. People should not be surprised about anything he does. Luckily for Americans, Democrats' agendas are so conflicting that Trump has been able to screw up once and again and still be popular, the economy has not shown any serious issues that may translate into a crisis significant enough for the average american to feel affected (which is ultimately what may hinder his popularity).
If Americans really values the "normality" of such a high office, they should not have elected Trump. And yet, what matters to most Americans is that their rights (second ammendment, etc) be preserved and that their economy runs smoothly, at least for them; screw the rest of the world, who cares about what kinds of allies it takes.

Dave, you're making a huge mistake here, and are frankly rather uninformed, I'm sorry to say.

Obama himself warned the Russians about bombings and strikes before doing them, even when not targeting the Russians themselves. In fact Trump made the same damned criticisms you're making on campaign.

Listen, for the love of God: Warning the Russians before striking so they can evacuate is so that we can avoid World War III.

When you say we shouldn't do that you're saying 'let's roll the dice with the human race'

As to the congress part I'm not sure if it's part of doctrine to warn congress of strikes, but I'm not going to be surprised if it isn't. The army isn't a democracy, it's a dictatorship, that means decisions are made top down; if you don't have damned good proof that this is contrary to doctrine you're making a fool of yourself.

You might want to consider running this kind of commentary by a friend or advisory who knows these kinds of things, because honestly this is a really silly boner, criticising Trump for NOT playing chicken with nuclear war.

Seems a little crazy that such a high level operation wasn't really told yo the inner circle of Trump, I mean why telling the Russians? Did they also participate in this operation? It's quite baffling though. However it's quite a different story that I'm hearing, I heard Al-bagdadi was killed. Well here comes a suicide angle to the story.
