'Maracuja', also known as passion fruit, is a food that comes from South America and is recognized for its health benefits. The name of this fruit comes from an Indian word ''Marau-ya”  which means "fruit consumed in one gulp." Maracuja has lots of benefits, but the most important is that this fruit is a good painkiller.

The passion fruit helps in:

  • insomnia
  • nervous disorders
  • anxiety
  • asthma
  • protects the stomach and prevents diseases like gastritis or ulcer
  • strengthens bones and immune system
  • lower blood pressure
  • removes the fat excess from the body

Passion fruit can be considered an important source of Vitamin C, Vitamin A and iron. The fruit has ascorbic acid, riboflavin, pyridoxine, potassium and phosphorus.

-Vitamin C helps repair tissue, prevent heart disease and cancer.

-Vitamin A helps skin healing.

The fruit can be cut and eaten directly, or it can be mixed with other fruits in a blender because of it's sour taste.
