Yesterday's Poll: "Are you profitable for the last 30 days (if using Luc's method) ?" "Yes" "No"

in #trading7 years ago (edited)

Yesterday afternoon @doc started a poll in our slack "Are you profitable for the last 30 days (if using Luc's method) ?" "Yes" "No"

Thanks @doc for doing this, because these numbers clearly show that people/traders are benefiting from my blog and our slack community. As you may have noticed, I have been making less videos and articles on my blog lately. This is because I allow the upvotes to dictate how much demand there is for my content. There may be thousands of followers on my blog, and over 2,500 members in our slack, but I only get (on average) around 200 upvotes for my blog posts. That's 6% of my followers, that upvote my posts. That type of feedback tells me, I can slow down on releasing more videos.

But our slack is very active and thriving, and my video library will always be here to help new ones learn. This poll clearly shows that our community is profitable, and its very encouraging to see everyone making safe and profitable trades. Thank you all for your hard work.

Luc

Need to read more about this! Awesome!

What I think I'm finding is that after upvoting a particular post I have to reload the entire blog and rescroll down the list of posts to see the next one that I haven't opened yet. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but if other people are experiencing the same thing that might be discouraging them from continuing to click the upvote button. Hope that's not the case because these videos are way too valuable to me for you not to continue them. Thank you so very much for the indespensible help you're giving me. I'm sure at this point that I'd just be one of the crowd wasting my time and money in the market without them.

Hey folks,

I have created a forum for the quick fingers traders, it can be found here: https://quickfingers.io/

It is brand new so there's only really Luc and I on there at the moment. Give us a try, I am sure you will enjoy the forum software, it's great to use. Once we get a few more members I believe Luc will mention the forum in a post so get in early!

You must register to view the content.

Cheers!

Upvoted.. There are some nice features in your new forum.. For instance you can post a picture/chart without having to use a third party.. You can just upload the picture directly.. thats awesome..

Thanks Luc. It's a little different to the Slack but I think both of them together are great for the community...

Lots of interesting stuff in the pipeline for the forum so stay tuned!

Thanks- Just registered.

Welcome! I sent you a private message on the forum as there was an issue with your email... cheers.

I just signed up for the forum community. I am new here and still getting information so I can begin trading next week. Still need all the approvals from the exchanges. Please I need an invite to slack channel.

Hey.. great!
Since I'm not in the slack, I look forward to using the forum.

How doseth one join thee Slack channel? I'd very much like to join it. Thanks!

Hello, I believe you have to be invited in - if you go to Lucs steemit post https://steemit.com/money/@quickfingersluc/how-i-turned-usd300-into-usd50-000-in-one-year-trading-crypto-currency
I made a comment to him and asked to be invited and then received an email with an invite. Luc's methods are great, I have done a few successful ones - I am so cautious to a fault sometimes and miss out but I am getting there :) Good luck

Did some searching because I wanted to join myself, here ya go!
Here's the direct Google survey to sign up: https://goo.gl/forms/r0dyOAY5mWYyvPMA3
This was found in this steem thread: https://steemit.com/trading/@quickfingersluc/would-you-like-to-join-the-quickfingerstraders-slack-channel-here-is-the-invite

Hello & Cheers!! I'm a content detection and information bot. You are receiving this reply because a short link or links have been detected in your post/comment. The purpose of this message is to inform your readers and yourself about the use of and dangers of short links.

To the readers of the post: Short links are provided by url shortening services. The short links they provide can be useful in some cases. Generally their use is benign. But as with all useful tools there are dangers. Short links can be used to hide all sorts of things. Quite frequently they are used to hide referral links for instance. While not dangerous this can be deceptive. They can also be used to hide dangerous links such as links to phishing sites, sites loaded with malware, scam sites, etc. You should always be extremely cautious before clicking on one. If you don't know and trust the poster don't click. Even if you do you should still be cautious and wary of any site you are sent to. It's always better to visit the site directly and not through a short link.

To the author of the post: While short links may be useful on some sites they are not needed on steemit. You can use markdown to format your links such as this link to steemit. It's as simple as [steemit](https://steemit.com) Unlike short links this allows the reader to see where they are going by simply hovering over the link before they click on it.

This message was created by a bot. It is part of the ongoing fight against spam and phishing attacks on steemit. If you did not use short links in your post and feel you have received this message in error you can contact @fubar-bdhr on discord or @fubar.bdhr on steemit chat to report the issue.

I've been at it just a few months and I'd pay a hefty sum just to watch more of your videos.
Also most people look over it and dont upvote for sure, there are probably few times more people reading it than people in the Slack too.
If you disappeared again, I'm sure more people would try to reach you than now lol.
If I had to guess most people want to see more daytrading(as usual), account building, personally I'd love to see more in-depth videos about volume, level 2, maybe arbitrage etc
I think you would have a better overview of how many people want your posts if there were statistics of overall post visitors, rather than upvotes.

Thanks for the feedback @nbiroz .. As you know I will never charge anyone anything for my content. I love trading, so I already am handsomely rewarded for all my efforts.. And I am sure you are correct, that everyone wants daytrading videos and small account building videos.. and so forth, but I dont want to lead anyone to losses. Most have trouble figuring out safe trades and proper position sizing, so I really don't want to confuse new traders by helping them take higher risk trades.. I'll give it some more thought though..

I love your videos and actually open your channel daily in the hope there's another gem waiting there for me to watch... appologies for not up-voting everything, but I for one am eternally grateful for what you have given us so far Luc

No worries, I'm sure I will get back to making some more videos when the market starts to dip again. I do take the upvotes as feedback on whether I should continue my video efforts, or just take a break for now.

I upvote and read everything you post.. I am watching your videos again from the beginning and same time reading all your comments on those videos on here Steemit. Meantime I upvote everything I see which you posted.. I'll see again and upvote if I have missed anything..

It's too sad to see you are getting upset..

No worries @nipuna im not going anywhere. I'm just not as active making videos for now.

Haven't traded as yet. Still a little hesitant. But always upvote Luc as appreciate your sharing and generosity.

You are our God Great Luc!!

I too think that considering the upvotes alone is a bad standard for you to make more videos by. I would love to see more of your videos even though i sometimes forget to log in to steemit and upvote things. Whatever you do, keep offering value as you've done so far :)

I'm with nbiroz on this one. I'd love to see videos on day trading/account building. I think the overwhelming majority of us here are new and are starting out with day trading as opposed to waiting around for a panic dip and having the cojones to place a few grand on it.

I'd love to see account builder trades! :-)

I always upvote your posts, even your replies under the posts. I don't know why other followers don't do that. maybe they aren't very interested in trading.

If I may posit a theory: the value of an upvote is essentially worthless on most platforms - at least in the eyes of an individual. So most people probably overlook that step in showing appreciation of value.

In a world where it usually takes hundreds of thousands of upvotes to mean anything, what does it really matter if I upvote or not? (Kind of like voting in the U.S.) Perhaps the impact of the Steem platform and others like it might not have quite sunk in yet, or may even be tainted by the monetization as a another way of somebody trying to profit from me.

For the record, I've upvoted every one of your posts I've viewed and even a lot of your comments and replies, and have been sharing it with my friends in crypto.
But perhaps it really is a sort of paradigm shift of meaning that hasn't hit home yet for many viewers. I hardly ever "react" to Youtube videos or the like (other than to save or share), and I'm sick of social media in a lot of ways, but I've joined Steem just to be able to see your videos, comments, and feedback.

Hopefully, your post about upvotes meaning something to you will be accepted and will create a reaction, but I hope you're not discouraged from continuing to share because it really is appreciated.

Maybe there's a better metric like a high percentage of views or something, but please know your work is appreciated. You're practically regarded as a saint on the Slack group if that tells you anything!

Please keep it up where it's enjoyable for you, I know I speak on behalf of many many traders when I say Thank You!

Unfortunately, it seems like a lot of the new members in the Slack haven't stopped by Steemit, or even watched your videos for that matter.

Maybe there should be a secret code hidden in one of your blog posts that new members have to enter before gaining access to the Slack! :-P

@Coulter From my personal experience as an administrator of the Slack group, I think we can debunk your theory . I have never come across a user in the Slack that did not first know who Luc was, almost universally they discover the community via his Steemit post announcing the Slack or they watched a video on YouTube. There is a questionnaire that must be filled out before anyone can join the QuickFingersTraders Slack group, we use this to assure that the members joining understand what they should expect when they join the community. At the very beginning of the questionnaire it says "Welcome to the QuickFingersTraders Slack. a community of cryptocurrency traders who practice the reactive position trading method as taught by QuickFingersLuc (https://steemit.com/@quickfingersluc). To learn how to trade, we suggest you start watching QuickFingersLuc’s tutorials (https://steemit.com/@quickfingersluc) from July 1st 2017 onward. Community member @Imalive0 has created a document that helps to explain QuickFingersLuc's trading methodology in a step by step manner, you may find this useful to read while watching Luc's tutorials. (https://sites.google.com/view/trading-steps/home)".

With that said, not everyone watches/reads all of Luc's content before joining the Slack. I've frequently spoken to members who only watched one or two videos, and were not aware of the library of content he has provided us. People join the community from all walks of life, and all experience. The Slack was designed to accommodate both experienced and inexperienced traders alike, its a community for anyone who is interested in reactive position trading. Some of the regulars in the community find the inexperienced users to be a distraction but I disagree, I find them to be a breath of fresh air! You can learn a lot from an inexperienced person if you take the time out to teach them what you have learned, it helps re-enforce the concepts in your own mind. While your busy saving less experienced trader's butts (like Luc does!), it helps you to become a better trader at the same time. That is a clear win-win in my book!

@tizzle I agree with you wholeheartedly about helping the inexperienced. The same thing happened to me when I started teaching singing. My personal progress as a singer of classical music soared when I started to teach. When the same problems arose I found I had to explain the same concepts differently because each person learns differently.

Luc's efforts on his blog and videos are tremendous as he will sometimes say something slightly differently than he did before (there's a good reason to continue making videos @quickfingersluc, even if you already convered the topic).

I also appreciate the efforts of @tizzle @hodlgod @pelt @oneluckyflip @Luckystrike @imalive0 and @borian in the slack. They (and others) have enlightened me a little differently (I still need to fully understand buy walls). I enjoy participating there and sharing what I have learned along with a few of my successes.

I also appreciate @unknowtrader for creating the forum since I found searching in Slack (and sometimes using Slack) confusing.

I also know that the inexperienced who take the time to watch all of the @quickfingersluc videos, participate in the Slack, this Steemit blog and the forum will become the teachers later.

Let's all continue to help each other.

Good to know! I guess I just see a lot of the same questions asked over and over, a lot of which are answered in the videos. It's not a big deal. I'm new to trading as well, so I understand. Thanks for all the work you do, it's a great community.

Hi tizzle, I am with you on this one, however I have watched almost all of Luc's videos on Youtube, matter of fact I watch some repeatedly for last one week from where I have discovered some of the scanners he talked about and also the slack community. I am not so good at using slack, I tried to search for the community on slack couldn't find it. How do I will appreciate if you can help on how I can join the slack community?

The gateway to the Slack channel is currently down. Is there another way to join? Thank you!

Hey @tizzle I just noticed last night that I actually received an invite or was approved to the Slack group in my emails, However when I went to go thru the link, It said the link wasnt valid anymore. My email is [email protected] and my Slack name is crypto1on1 so is there anyway you could resend?

That sounds awesome, but after a week or so the code would get spread around and become obsolete.. I am sorta enjoing the break ive been given lately (from doing videos and answering questions) because I am a busy trader.. But as soon as the market starts turning bearish again, I know Ill be making videos trying to save traders butts..

Well I love the videos. It seems like the more experience I get trading the more I'm able to mine new gems of knowledge rewatching the videos. This trading thing has a huge declarative knowledge component but often we just aren't ready for certain things until we've encountered a situation in practice and then it clicks. Like lately I've finally gotten comfortable enough that I can layer in based on reading level 2 volume. But the day before I couldn't do it at all. Suddenly I was trading some NEO and it clicked. I bought based on volume and I made more money on the bounce. I was finally ready for that. If I can make a request Luc, more material on that. Layering in on the volume is a huge part of this technique. Anyway, thank you for everything and I'll spread the word. Upvote these posts!

"But as soon as the market starts turning bearish again, I know Ill be making videos trying to save traders butts.."

Hmm can you explain this further? Won't bases be respected in a bearish market?

Ofcourse bases will be respected.. thats my point.. in a bull market, everyone is making money regardless of what strategy they are using, but in a bearish market I make tons of trades and grow my account, while others are losing money.. So I will be making more videos, trying to help all the traders out there in the world who are searching for a solid trading method.

Thanks for your answer. I just needed to hear "of course bases will be respected... that's my point..." from the man himself even though you repeat it in every video ;)

I hate bothering u personally Luc, but I think that recently I developed a different opinion on base trading than most people in the slack...so I'd appreciate it if u looked over few charts(now all coins seem to be falling due to BTC, this assumes normal circumstances):

For example, this seems like a totally fine position trade to take...The base was retested, but it did not weaken completely, there was a sharp turn down, then the price kept retouching the base after a minimal drop, then finally went down and sideways. I do not think that either of these things disquality this as a proper position trade, but maybe I am wrong.
And similarly TRIG

Basically, what I am asking is if a panic is a neccessary component in position trading I guess. Until now I thought it simply meant that the reaction will be better in terms of % and time, but whenever I see a base break it is tradeable in a longer timeframe(until an avg bounce from an avg drop happens, at least).

If not, then most of the trades I take(i look for 10% profit at least) are more akin to daytrading small drops, and all base breaks without a violent reaction would have to be ignored from a position trading perspective. It would also cut the number of trades by 90% i guess.

I've just joined and haven't gone through everything yet to really say, but I doubt your upvotes are a reflection on the value of the videos and how much people want them. I think people just read and then just upvote. From what I see in the Slack channel, there are a lot of questions still being asked and I suspect you are doing things beyond what you've disclosed that you don't even realize are different or beyond what you've already taught and that the game changes on occasion. Just my 2 cents. I for one really appreciate what you have done here and plan to spend my weekend going through the rest of what I can.

On another note, I am not sure most people understand steemit nor that the little arrow is where you upvote. I just joined to get your content and had no idea how it worked nor that the little blue arrow in the circle was how I upvote. I still don't know how steemit works beyond the fact that it somehow pays you for people viewing and upvoting your content. I've also had a lot of issues with Steemit loading slowly or not at all when I load pages, so just wanted to add that as well.

My steemit vote isn't even worth a penny (the vast majority of users' isn't), so even if I did upvote you, which I do....

@joshuatucker I don't really care about the reward part of upvotes, I only want more votes to help get my blog noticed by more people.. Its hard for those searching for quality trading education to find me, so the more upvotes the more views my blog will get.

Always upvote even if it doesn't make money. More votes gives the blog more visibility!

You have to remember with so much information bombarding us all the time, 6% turnover rate into votes is actually pretty darn good.

Hi there guys, would love help please,
I recently joined the slack chat room, but cant seem to see any discussions or even this poll that was posted, could someone please tell me how to be a part of it?
TIA

I'm happy to give you my .02 (my vote value) and resteem. I've gained a huge amount of knowledge from your video's and am currently getting off my ass to join and learn from the slack channels.

I wish steem was better for having the content of the people you want to closely follow to pop up. It would be nice to have an alert or something when your videos or blog posts are posted.

Thanks for the support Dan.. See you in slack..

Boss ভোট করছি, আপনি ও করেন

where can I find the result of the survey? personally the past month has been hard as the market is in constant down trend.

I'm still going over your videos some I have watched multiple times still learning. Last Saturday I figured I'll try with $48 Monday noon I was up to $106.65 with last trade. I'll keep on educating myself till Saturday and go from there. Many thanks

Awesome.. I love to hear about good trades..

Thank you soooo much luc for sharing your strategy of safe and proper way of trading.. I upvoted on every single post of yours...

Your strategy requires much patient but it's the one that ALWAYS pays...
I truly appreciate your sharing and time doing this..

Every time I'm lost in crypto world your video calms me and I feel confident again.. I think I can narrow down your strategy as per below :

  1. Always have bitcoins ready.. Don't dump in all to alts and get stuck when there's opportunity. (most newbies do this including me) - till now

  2. Study the cracks and if you want a safe exit, sell at the previous support (at least).. 5%, 10%, 20% profit is normal.. Anything above is extra...

  3. ??? - Profit !

Since you like seeing trades

Nice, thanks for sharing your trades and for showing what you were thinking by drawing on the chart.. You are finding bases and noticing patterns.. very nice

Hi Luc, I'm a newbie investor and your method is very interesting! I've watched your first 6 videos on Youtube and I have some questions, I'd very appreciated it if you could answer them:

  1. I notice that when trading using your "base" method, it takes about 2-7 days (or more) for the currency (i.e btc) to drop below that base. Assuming that I have limit orders waiting to buy below that base, what do you do in the mean time?
  2. Since Oct 5th, BTC has been growing like crazy and hasn't cracked any previous bases, does that mean I can't use the base method?
  3. When using your base method, what time interval should I set your chart, i.e 1h, 15m or 5m?
It's a bit long so thanks for reading and for sharing your knowledge with us Luc!

You should go to our slack to ask all your questions, those are pretty common.. (1) I trade the alts and the stock market while I wait for the bigger position trades..(2) When BTC is running like crazy upwards, I am taking profits along the way from all the free shares that I have created.. (3) I trade the Base method or Position trades using 1hour candles and a 2 month time frame

Thanks for the answer Luc, I've just found the Trading Steps doc and I'm reading it right now. I'm so excited to try out your new method because I've been a panic investor and it costed me quite a bit now.

Hi Luc,

first I want to thank you for all your video's and clear information that you are telling starters in cryptoworld!
After researching some interesting video's on YouTube, your video's came around and I started watching them.
After seeing a bunch (±half of all) I decided to also start my own crypto-trading account at Bittrex.
I bought just for only 15 dollars bitcoins and started to trade in other cryptoconcurency's; at first I was going for the short trades, so 4% profit was the max I received, I never made any losses in this system.
after I had watched a lot more video's from you I decided to try the longer therm also, so I hopped in with MTL, 1ST and ADX, I tought that they had a great base and wouldn't crack down more.
at the moment off speaking I am 60 hours further and it looks that it only will crack down more! I have to admit that most of the altcoins are falling down really hard but I have lost at the moment at these crypto's around 20% and this doesn't give me the conviction to trade further on with more of my money.
while I started great and I loved it to trade, but when having 'bad times' it is difficult to go on.

I hope that you will have some great tips for me and other people in your next video's! I am a big suporter of your video's!

big greatings from Holland!

Hi Luc, let me tell you this.. I love your videos.. I started watching your videos couple of weeks back and I am catching up with them, but I do love them.. I did not have a steem account, so couldn't upvote.. Here's my upvote.. I have a request - the market is very down. Can you please post a video with your trading ideas? That would help all of us and we can make some profits during this huge dip.. :)

Hey Luc!

I am really interested in joining your slack channel! How do I go around doing this? I'm not sure the advice given below is still relevant?

Am I the only one who cant use Coinigy to trade on HitBtc? I can add the API just fine, but I am not allowed to make trades from coinigy.

You made it so simple it's ridiculous. Thanks Luc
