This is Wat Chedi Luang, a Buddhist temple in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The temple began construction in the 14th Century and took until the mid 15th Century to finish. I happened to visit here in the late afternoon and loved how the sun completely lit up the temple. This photo has a minimal amount of editing because the sun (and architects) did all the work for me!

I took this picture yesterday after an impromptu hike after asking google to take us to a waterfall. I might have malaria now but I guess I did get a nice looking picture so... worth it?

It was hour outside of Kuala Lumpur but I don't remember the name of the place.

Sunset in Guilin
Right in front of our hotel, the Ron Inn, was this beautiful lake, where the tourist walked along and the locals danced and relaxed. The most touristy thing to do was to get on a boat and cruise on the lake. The lake splits into several parts and the two famous Pagodas of Guilin are actually right behind us. I was lucky to set up my tripod without much disturbance and take a a couple of shots. Have a great week everybody:)

steemit justdentist contest asian week 19.jpg

Pretty shots :) , love the sunset background @justdentist

Morning light bathes a hallway within the ruins of Ta Prohm in golden light. It was really special to spent some time in this temple and explore all the different halls, finding new details behind every corner. I was there three times in the morning to be able to photograph it in best possible light and also before the crowds arrived.

How can the rest of us compete!! Haha !

Longtail Boat in Thailand

When I visited Southern Thailand, I booked a tour in a longtail boat visiting some small islands in the Andaman Sea. The clear, turquoise waters and white sand beaches are very beautiful, but after some days I got tired of visiting beached and decided to travel further north.

Good angle shots :) makes the pics looks amazing @jpphotography

Thank you @rinawonderlands! You have some amazing photos!

thanks @jpphotography yours are amazing too :)

The night view at Huangpu River in Shanghai was stunning. As you can see there is still a bit of fog in the air but that does not change this pretty city. Lights were so bright is has created a nice reflection on the water. I miss holidaying in Asia!

Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

This holy shrine is located in a limestone hill, and the caves themselves are said to be 400 million years old. Tons of people flock here every day for various reasons, but by far my favorite is to get pick pocketed by the local monkeys. They just don't care and are not afraid of humans. They will go through your stuff while you're holding it, scavenging for food. That alone makes the 100 meter trek up stairs worth it.

This shot was from inside the actual cave on top of the hill where it opens up for natural daylight to illuminate the area. In contrast, right next to the entrance to this place, you can find the Dark Caves, where it is absolute darkness in the middle of day.

Hey, what a cool-looking shot ♦♦ Guess it would be a unique (& startling experience) to get scavenged by the local monkeys.

Pretty nice picture. When u mentioned 'darkness in the daytime', it reminded me of a Film i saw in which the same occurred .. It was 'PASSAGE into INDIA' .

Ever see it?

Thank you. For fun, here are some of the monkeys inside Batu, just waiting for their moment to pounce :)

Sadly, I don't really watch a lot of movies, so I miss out on a lot of great ones, unless they accidentally end up on Netflix. I've been traveling the globe for the past year and a half, so between work and travel, I have little time for much other media.

Thanks 4 the quick reply. Bet u have a lot of #FUN -- yet it can be a bit 'frantic' at times (traveling & unpacking/organizing etc) .

Neat pic.

🙊always win 🙈

Manila

My new home for the next 2 months. Manila is the most densely populated city proper on mother earth. It is well known for its jeepneys and dangerous road. The cityscape of this city is not like any city in the world.

Today’s entry is from island Padar, which is located in Indonesia, between islands Komodo and Rinca. It is a small island and not so touristic, but it offers one of the best views! After a short walk you are rewarded with view on Komodo National Park archipelago. Photo was taken early in the morning. Enjoy the view!

Amazing shot! Would love to visit Komodo in future.

Thank you! I am sure that you won't regret visiting Komodo :)

Beautiful pics of beautiful island! I have been there as well, but now it's getting developed. They have stairs now to go up to the hill

I took this shot when crossing Victoria Harbour of Hong Kong in the well-known Star Ferry. Operated since 19th century, Star Ferry has been an inexpensive mode of harbour crossing for local commuters between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island, as well as a popular attraction for tourists.

I woke up to see a sunrise, and luckily there is also a little rainbow over the sky, which is rare to see here. It's beautiful eventhought it's not a full one. The colorful sky, give a reflection color to the sea and sand. I took this pretty picture in Candidasa beach, a relaxed spot on the east Bali where you could snorkel. This is my entry for this challenge Tomas @czechglobalhosts

Thanks for the vote Tomas @czechglobalhosts , really appreciate your support :)

Shot few years ago during my trip to Alanya, Turkey for vacation.
Very nice hotel on the top of the hill (actually situated inside some old castle) with terrific view to the gulf and the city. Panoramic effect makes some more impact even

Enjoy it!

In the Afternoon at the bayside

image

When the sun began to sink
The sky looks very beautiful
The roll of waves dancing
Added to the beauty that afternoon

Accompanied by a breeze
In the sitting, I was pensive
Remember the figure of the Creator
In my heart I whispered

God

  • This beautiful nature
    You created it so perfectly
Now, I realize how almighty Of the God

My this entry is again from spiti valley India, Spiti Valley can be more aptly called as Trekking mecca and a virgin paradise. THIS PICTURE WAS CLICKED IN DECEMBER 2017, I was on music video shoot. Loved this place, a cold desert.

Bali is an amazing place to visit. The landscape is very diversified and you can find white Sandy Beach in most of the south or black sand is the north (volcanic rock dust).

Most of the center is kind of a jungle in which there are amazing places to trek or do some rafting on rivers.

You can easily find yourself trekking through rice paddy field such as this one before climbing the side if a volcano!

Location: Bali, Indonesia.

Looks like another planet

It was October when we reached Ratti Gali , It was very dangerous journey through a big Jeep , weather was lovely and the atmosphere was very pleasant .

Gorgeous shot! Another place I have to visit in Pakistan! I love how this challenge offers an opportunity to see amazing places through other participants’ lens. =)

@itchy warm welcome to my country

This photo makes me want to adventure! Great shot

thank you dear

DQmXisYCbCZEsXs4ShJZgyMYJzk5vfhuez1DzvtHANF4bjA.jpgThese were the most amazing and unforgettable moments in January, 2017 when we visited Tirah Valley located near my Hometown Kachai, in KPK Pakistan. It was severe cold weather there and we really enjoyed the snowfall, because there was nothing quite as serene as seeing the whole area covered in a fresh sheet of snow.. We also took some photographs. But I chose this pic to present in 7 world's continent photo challenge held by @czechglobalhosts. So that my fellow steemians would also like and enjoy gazing at this stunning view.

Wow, what a view! Thanks for sharing this! I’ve always wanted to visit Pakistan - must be full of beautiful places.

Thanks for your compliment. You may visit Pakistan anytime you want. You'll be most welcome. @itchyfeetdonica

Bohol, Chocolate Hills, 06/2017, NikonD5300

I took this picture in the Philippines, Bohol at the amazing Chocolate Hills. It's a famous tourist attraction and a must-do in Bohol.
During the dry season, the grass-covered hills dry up and turn chocolate brown, this is where they get there name from.
We were amazed form this unique view, over more then 1200 hills.
I hope you enjoy it :)

Banasurasagar - Kerala, India

This, small island surrounded by mountains of the Western Ghats is one of my favorite spots in my hometown. I try to visit here every time I get a chance, hiking to the top of the mountain to see the beautiful view is still on my wishlist.

🇻🇳 Rice Fields 🇻🇳

Without a doubt, is one of my favorite shots, for the beauty of the landscape, the colors, and for all the fascinating moments I have lived in my last great trip going to Hong Kong / Japan / Vietnam / Cambodia and Thailand (my favorite country).

This photo is from a rice field in Sapa - Vietnam, it's worth a visit, much more than Halong Bay, and even more so if you do it on your own and decide to stay with native families.

Parameters settings used for this pic were: iPhone 6s Plus 📱

The few days spent alone in the Macouines archipelago in the Philippines aboard my sailboat, will have made me know people out of the ordinary. In this house perched on the cliff, young guardians of "swallow nests" look after the concessions of wealthy owners. Each nest contains a mucus secreted by birds worth several thousand dollars per kilogram ... enough to imagine the craziest strategies to monitor these nest priced gold!

This is my first entry to the 7 world continent photo challenge!

This could be one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

A clear Morning at Darjeeling.

I captured this picture with my smartphone when I on my trip to western India. Darjeeling is a pretty much Himalayan Part of India with different geographical location. It was an awesome place to be but the continuous rainfall of a week pretty much ruined my trip.I took this photo on the last day on darjeeling while Riding down towards Mirik.

This photo is taken from a beach on Koh Tao, Thailand. We were lying on the beach enjoying this beautiful sunset after an evening of swimming and snorkeling. Koh Tao has lovely beaches, turquoise water and is an excellent place for scuba diving.

Aoyama cemetery, Tokyo

One of the best places to see some amazingly beautiful cherry blossoms trees is this cemetery in the center of the Japanese capital. The setting makes for quite some special atmosphere, you truly feel the transience of life, and it's value!!

The two-deck trams and buses are very characteristic of Hong Kong. This photo was taken at a tram and bus station. The type of building that you see at the background of the image are also very common in the city.

Swimming in paradise at Erawan Waterfall. The waterfalls are found in the limestone based Tenasserim Hills of Kanchanaburi Province in the Western part of Thailand. The falls are named after Erawan the three-headed white elephant of Hindu mythology. There are seven tiers of the falls within Erawan National Park.

Absolutely gorgeous! Is the water deep enough that you could jump into it from the waterfall?

The beautiful clear waters of Southern Leyte in the Philippines offer great opportunities to discover healthy coral reefs. On Limasawa Island, the locals are proud of their marine protected area, which provides the village with revenue from dive operators whilst reducing pressure on fish stocks.

Too many beautiful places that I must visit

This photo was taken while we were on a family walk in Bang Krachao, which is known as 'The green lungs of Bangkok'. The statue is a Thai giant known as a 'Yak'. You will often find these at the gates of temples, as they are seen as guardians against evil spirits.

World's Highest Suspension Bridge.

This is a picture of the huge Kushma-Gyadi suspension footbridge, one of the world’s highest of its type which lies in Kushma, Nepal. Crossing 384 feet above the Madi River, the trail bridge is also one of Nepal’s longest with a span of 1,128 feet.

How did it feel crossing it? Did it swing a lot?

Does the picture uploaded by us need to comply some minimum requirements or can it be of any resolution.
Please tell me. Thank you in advance.

I took this photo of the Faisal Mosque in Islamabad, Capital of Pakistan back in 2010, when I was working and living there.
Faisal Mosque is the largest moque in South Asia, and it was built with funding from Saudi King Faisal. Construction of the mosque started in 1976.
During my 3 and half years' stay in Pakistan, I visited this mosque many times. It's one of the architectures that impressed me the most.

Took this photo while sitting on the bow of our boat off the coasts of Krabi in Thailand. This was the first stop on the trip was this cove that was surrounded by hundred meter tall cliffs rising straight out of the water. The water was emerald blue and there were monkeys swinging around in the trees on the rocks. One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited.

hi there! i just stumbled upon this contest and i'm quite glad i did as i started checking travel photos i've been neglecting for years. i think it's time now

i shot this while riding around in Burma with my girlfriend two years ago. we spent nearly a month on two wheels, and besides many hidden gems, Bagan was one of the definite highlights. we went off season, so we had a monument just for ourselves to see the rising sun. i'm glad we stayed after the sun came up, as a father and his two sons appeared out of nowhere and disappeared just as quickly. i'll never forget the sight and the feeling we had over those couple of hours...

Wondering where they came from and where they go.

Mount Emei

It is a mountain located in Sichuan Province in China and It is one ofe the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains. Its hight is 3099 m n. m. You can see there a lot of Tibetan macaques - so take care of your food, because there are hungry most of the time.
