7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Asian Sunday week #22 – winner announcement!
@thuylannguyen Asian Sunday entry:
This is my photo taken during a trip to Sa Pa in Lao Cai province, Vietnam. Sa Pa Town is located in Lao Cai Province, north-west Vietnam, close to the border with China. Sapa Town is famous both for its fine, rugged scenery and for its rich cultural diversity. Sapa is oriented to make the most of the spectacular views emerging on clear days; it overlooks a plunging valley, with mountains towering above on all sides. Views are often subdued by thick mist rolling across the peaks, but even when it's cloudy, local hill-tribe people fill the town with colour.

This is Mount Cook National Park in New Zealand. Mount Cook is the tallest mountain in New Zealand at 3,724 metres (12,218 feet). The park has glacial surrounds, pristine blue lakes and towering alpine peaks, and offers some of the most impressive mountain walks in New Zealand.

@dmytrokorol Tuesday of Antarctica and world´s oceans entry:
Motion in blue. I found this interesting rock formation on the Cordoama beach in Portugal and had struggled to find the right position on the wet stones, wiping the lens, covering my camera from splashes and trying to capture the contrast between the motion of water and stillness of rock.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – African Wednesday week #22 – winner announcement!
@ansharphoto African Wednesday entry:
Deadvlei, Namibia. This place is striking in its lifeless beauty. It’s difficult to imagine that it was ever underwater; now the earth of Deadvlei is cracked and bleached a stark white by the sun. There is little to suggest that life ever flourished there. Even its name — Deadvlei, which means “dead marsh” or “dead valley”— conveys an o ominous sense of the absence of life.

Since a lot of my travel is for work, I don't get to choose the time I'll be at a certain location. But sometimes I get incredibly lucky. This was one of those times. When I visited Venice in June 2016, I had the chance to take a boat ride through the Grand Canal just as the sun was setting. I couldn't have asked for a better moment. The canals of Venice are truly a magical place.
Superp shot Matt!
Regretfully due constant erosion of the sandy Baltic seacoast, time to time pine trees are falling from the hill straight onto the beach. Sad to see, but bringing pretty nice opportunity to use them as a perfect foreground for sunset shots.
That's one of the fine examples.
Enjoy it!

The image turns out to be beautiful!
Ronda, Andalusia, Spain
City of Ronda is located in the very south of Spain not far from Malaga. Ronda is a most fairy tale looking city I visit recently. White washed houses perched on huge hundred meters high cliffs of Guadalevin River gorge inspire only wonder and awe. It is really difficult to imagine that people could live in such a place.
Oh wow! Imagine living in one of those houses and having a 200ft drop outside your window?
Spectacular! I have to visit there one day. Tomas
The beautiful Lake Bohinj in Slovenia. I loved how the rock formation in the foreground was shaped almost like a heart! A beautiful clear sunny day with some snow still on the mountains, this country is full of beauty!
Awesome shot!!
Thank you!

You are now trying to fight plagiarism?! After being accused and proved to be a plagiator yourself? (in Tomas´ yesterday post). Come on man... @vtravels has been contributing to this challenge for a long time and she, unlike you, posts only her own photos.
Yeah that’s my image!! I put it on alamy myself !
Ok then you need to show ownership to that photo to @czechglobalhosts sir.
No problem. I’ve logged into Alamy and here is a photo that you can only access from being logged in of the photographs that I’ve uploaded - - is that ok??
Ok friend. Just helping @czechglobalhosts sir to stop plagarism🙂. Hope you don't mind.
No problem. Many of us have sold images, so some of our stuff will be on the web with some stock photo websites, but if you look a little into some of the people's profiles that you suspect may be plagiarizing work, you can usually tell off of what they posts, or if they have a website or anything.
No problem I understand you have to check!
Here is @vtravels website: http://www.sansomphotography.co.uk/
I am 100% certain she is a legit photographer that can take an amazing photograph like the one she posted.
Hey, thanks so much!! I really appreciate your comment! :)
Hello! I am glad to see the whole situation was cleared off and happy to see a community engagement. Tomas
PS: great pic!
Thanks Tomas!
This picture was taken at the terrace of the Rudolfsturm Restaurant, located by the Skywalk Hallstatt on the mountain just behind Hallstatt, Austria, reachable by cable car. There are few walking trails there, as well as an ancient salt mine that is a big attraction. I was there after walk on a trail for half a day, and was enjoying my lunch while I was treated to this view of the Lake Hallstatt.
Amazing shot, amazing place! Tomas

Every year, at the end of September, an enormous exhibition takes place in the Italian city of Bologna, which I have to visit on business. Previously, we stopped in large urban hotels, paying for it mad money. And the last couple of years we have found wonderful farms, which are engaged in agritourism. While there are very low prices for accommodation even during the high season associated with the exhibition, there is also a very tasty homemade food from farm products. Well, the landscapes there are excellent, especially in the mornings. Than I use, going out with the camera for a walk
What a beauty! Thank you so much for sharing this image in my challenge. Tomas
Thank you, Tomas, for your challenge!
The medieval village of Monsaraz (Alentejo region, southern Portugal) seen from afar, photographed in long exposure during dusk. It looks like a village out of a Christmas tale... You can even see the northern star in the center of the scenery!
Cheers!
Beautiful! Thank you so much for your submission. Tomas
Thanks Tomas!
The Munich Olympic Park is one of the most interesting systems of buildings in Munich. This park hosted the Summer Olympics in 1972. And to this day it is used for sporting actions. The nearby park is also worth a visit, because it is possible to see the whole city.
Glad to see your participating here as well! Great shot!
The Quaint Fishing Village of Reine
Have you ever had one of those days where you just want to escape? Away from the hustle and bustle of the city life? Dodge the canopies of the concrete jungle? A break from social media. A break from smartphones and computers?
Well, the fishing village of Reine is where you'd want to be. It's remote enough to be away from civilization but civilized enough to provide home comforts. You'll likely stay in one of the red fishing houses scattered throughout its bay and inlets.
You might even see the famed Northern Lights if you're lucky. You can climb one of the peaks surrounding the village for some of the most breathtaking views in the world. It's one of the places that will make you want to visit Norway.
What a beauty!
Green hills of Vesteralen
The sunlight coming through the rare breaks in the clouds creates an exciting game of light on the mountains of Langoya Vesteralen Islands, Norway. View from Hinnoya on the other side of Forfjord.
Gorgeous!!
Thank you!
What an image! Simply stunning!
Thank you!
Photo taken in beautiful Porto. I went there in the winter, although it was cold, I still could enjoy the city. Porto is so beautiful, there're many tiled walls and churches.
A unique landscape of craters, volcanoes and rivers of petrified lava. Teide National Park is a national park located in Tenerife on Canary Islands. The national park is centered on Mount Teide, the highest mountain of Spain (3,718 metres high).
Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg
What is this thing? Well let's say a really expensive music hall. The Elbphilharmonie is Hamburg's new iconic building right at the water front and harbor. It's impressive - inside and outside - no doubt. But is it worth almost 1 billion Euros? Well no matter what we had the pleasure to visit in February 2017 and I can highly recommend a visit when you are in Hamburg. It must be awesome to listen to a concert in one of the concert halls.
Taken in the south of Sweden near Halmsted one summer evening, I had taken a drive around the countryside. The sun was setting over the golden wheat fields as a gentle breeze brought the fresh smell of nature. It was one of the most relaxing photo adventures I've been on, time seemed to have stood still (aside from the lessening light) there were no people, just me and my camera as the sun set over the horizon :)

Views from the top of Rigi just outside of Lucerne Switzerland. The area of Rigi is one of the most beautiful locations I have ever visited in my travels around the world as there is so much natural beauty in every direction you turn. The hiking was a bonus as there were countless trails leading in every direction with stunning views of the surrounding lakes and alps.
Today I have an entry from Cambridge, an ancient English university city. It is located 80 km north-east of London. The area around Cambridge was inhabited prior to the Roman rule. Thanks to the fact that there are many students from many countries - the diversity of culture is very rich.
Well, guess what, it's another photo from Iceland! I need to visit more countries in Europe. ;)
This is the ring road in the southern part of the country, a drive through the moss-covered lava fields not far from the town of Kirkjubaejarklaustur.
This beautiful stream is called Gertelbach and is located in the Blackforest in south Germany. It is a lush green location with lots of moss-covered rocks and trees. In autumn the red leaves make a lovely contrast to the green of the moss...

View from the main square of sunset in Assisi, city in the province of Perugia Umbria region, Italy. It is the city where Saint Francis of Assisi was born, founder in 1208 of the Order of the Franciscans, and Saint Clare of Assisi, founder of the Order of the Poor Sisters of Saint Claire. Assisi, the Basilica of San Francisco and other Franciscan sites, have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000.
This Saturday we went to the Severn Beach. It is a small village in the UK. We have decided to go there because of the nice footpath leading to the Second Severn Crossing Bridge visible on this image! It is a toll bridge, acting as a connector between England and Wales! So standing on English soil I could see the Welsh hills on the other side! Beautiful view and wonderful feeling! I have also made a post about it and a childish video here!
One of my favorite images from a weekslong mother-daughter road trip through Romania. It was taken at Balea Lac (altitude 2,034 m) in the Fagaras Mountains. If you know what Transfagarasan looks like (or can look it up), you may be able to trace it in the photo, although it's covered with snow. So the only way up there was by cable car, which I always enjoy! We were lucky enough to catch the last ride of the day and a memorable sunset. (Click on the photo to see large.)

For this European challenge I am sharing my photo taken in Reykjavik, Iceland. It's the main landmark of the city - it's a church called Hallgrimskirkja. It's really interesting architecture, because it's just so different from any other churches that I've seen in the past. It definitely deserves a visit if you ever go to Reykjavik.

I took this shot during my class trip to Croatia in 2009. I remember that I was very fascinated with the big mountains that were awfully close to the sea! I surely wanna visit the Croatian riviera again!
Location: Podgora, Croatia
Pirano (also known as Piran) is a city located at the Adriatic coast of Slovenia. This town has had a strong Venetian influence, that can be seen in its architecture. The photo was taken at the harbour of the city.
There are so many awesome places in the world that I want to visit and these pictures really make me sad that I have not been able to visit them.
I clicked this picture in the pretty town of Vik in South Iceland. The minimal church with a red roof is perched on a hill, contrasting with the green landscape and the misty background. A bit further south, you will see the unique Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach that has risen from the volcanic ashes.
A seascape in the Lofoten Islands (Norway), known for characteristic fishing villages, spectacular landscape and as a great place for northern lights hunting tours.
Hi! I am glad to see your beautiful image here. Unfortunately, it id missing the minimum 30-word description. I cannot consider it for the challenge this time. Thank you for your understanding and have a great day. Tomas
Panoramic view of the historic center of Nice, France. The capital of the Alpes-Maritimes region of France, Nice is located on the famous French Riviera, a popular tourist area famous for sunny climate and beautiful beaches. I took this shot from a look-out point above the city in summer 2016.
I like to travel by car. On the way, you can go to remote places, where there are no other tourists. And the impressions from nature and architecture are not less than from travel to big cities. In the summer in the Czech Republic, not reaching 80 kilometers to Prague, I photographed this landscape.
This guard is one of the statues on the castle wall in Germany. We traveled around the country by car and then and again came to different castles. Big and small, known and not. The road to this castle ended almost at the foot of the hill on which it was located. There were only minutes left before sunset. It's a prank to run up the road, with a backpack of photographic equipment. Time was enough just to catch your breath and make a couple of shots. After that the sun is down.
This is main Cathedral in Cologne, Germany. It reaches 157.38 meters in height and also it was the tallest building in the world for 4 years until the completion of Washington Monument. I really wanted to capture the most of the scene, but I had only 24-70mm and no tripod with me. So, I tried my best and took this panoramic handheld shot. 13 photos stacked into one. All taken at 24mm with full frame camera. View in new tab for best quality. Enjoy!
P.S. You can see some people on the left. Now just imagine how huge is this building.
Krakow market square. I'm try to shot this famous plase not by ordinary way :)
Superb shot!
Hi! Once again, you are missing a minimum 30 word description and I cannot consider your image for the challenge. I could easily pick this as a winning picture! Kindly provide an image with 30 to 50 word description next time. Thank you for your understanding. Tomas
o! I really forget for a long description! Thank you for remind me, will try next time :)
this is the karlskirche (st. charles' church) a few days ago in vienna after i visited a magical concert of the very talented hang player manu delago. i think it is one of the most beautiful sights in vienna :-)
porto district, today the photography enthusiasm takes us to portugal, a tour more than tourist is cultural, the light did not help because it was a sunset and every second in the car was less illumination.
Plitvice lakes, Croatia - The most amazing combination of lakes, waterfalls and scenery. the water was so clear and the most amazing turquoise blue, each and every corner that I walked around had me enchanted and gazing with wonder. If you want to save time boats will bring you to the waterfalls,
but I would suggest just taking your time to take in the beauty.
That's a great shot!
It is a simple photo of landscape in Iceland. It was taken in February, so it road was quite slippery but our 4x4 car handled it without any issue. On photo we can see the escalation of winter conditions from the lowlands to higher places.

I shot this picture in my hometown, Gmunden in Upper Austria.
It's a little mountain lake called "Langbathsee" which shows multiple beautiful colors of the environment. It's absolutely worth to visit!
This photo was taken in Louvre, France. It is originally built as a fortress. For now, it becomes a museum that displays paintings, sculptures, and drawings. Even I am not addicted to arts, I visited it for a whole day and didn't want to leave!!!
Birdhouse by the lake in Helsinki. Finland is a country of thousands of lakes and this one is very close to downtown with typical finish cafeteria. You can try there all kind of local homemade sweets and great coffee.
I went to Greece a few years ago with a group of friends. We had the chance to visit Santorini island for 3 days and it was very beautiful. We can see blue Aegean Sea and event if the island was destroyed by enormous volcanic eruption, we can still find artefacts like this one around the island.
Today I want to share my photograph taken in Porto Moniz. It is one of the oldest cities of Madeira - Portugal. Porto Moniz It attracts many tourists throughout the year for its spectacular natural heritage: Beautiful natural pools offered by the sea.
The Tower Bridge is an icon of the city of London, a universal image of the British capital. So, it is one of the ten most famous bridges in Europe. On the other hand, the construction of the Tower Bridge lasted eight years and had the collaboration of five contractors and the incessant work of 432 workers. The bridge was inaugurated by the Prince of Wales in 1894.
Undoubtedly, Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and has one of the most representative structures in the world that makes it unique in the world: the Eiffel Tower inaugurated in 1889 which, with its 300 meters high, is one of the tourist destinations most famous in the world.
This is in the Connemara National Park, a natural jewel of Ireland, which extends from its shores of beaches and cliffs, in my opinion the most spectacular views of Ireland are seen from here, there is so much beauty in all of nature that here see that you are amazed, and as it is a tour that must be done on foot gives you more chance to enjoy all around.
I took this picture sitting in a soda fountain in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. I have always admired this country because despite not having the natural resources that my country has (Venezuela) has been able to explore what little it has in a positive way for everyone. The Danes take great care of their country and this is admirable. I always liked tourism and God gave me the opportunity to work in this environment and for my great fortune, the company was Danish. I hope you like the photo. Regards..!
This is a picture of the Big Ben taken from the Westminster bridge. The Westminster bridge was huilt in 1738, and links Westminster and Lambeth. Big Ben is the nickname for the Great Bell of the house of Parliament’s clock tower, most people however call the Bell, the clock and the tower Big Ben.
This picture was taken on Crete, Greece. Crete is the fifth largest island in the Mediterranean. The summer was slowly coming to an end. The sea was as always beautiful but also calm. Luckily it was warm and very clean, so it was perfect for everyday swimming :-)
Be sure to click on the image to view full screen!
The amazing Croatia- Dubrovnik old town! It is a very big and touristical place (especially after the Game of Thrones series) but you should start your trip early in the morning since it will be very crowded in the afternoon... You can spend all of your day in here and I'm sure you will like it!
nice photography....
