Today I'm sharing a world of snow and mountains. This is at the ski resort Ischgl, in Austrian Alps. Except for skiing, there are hiking possibilities, mountain bike trails and adventure park water playground. The town is also known for its lively après-ski scene. Trails in the surrounding mountains lead to breathtaking Alpine lakes.
Your entries need to be submitted by 8 AM Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.
Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 SBD in total.
Please see the winners of the previous contests of the week and give them your support if you like their images to be the one winning the weekly price and entering the other stages of the 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge. You can vote for them by upvoting their winner announcement posts below:
7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Asian Sunday week #73 - winner announcement!
@jpphotography Asian Sunday entry:
Don Khon Waterfall, Laos. After four exchausting and amazing days on the motorbike in the Bolaven Plateu last week, I visited two of the 4000 islands that are located in the South of Laos in the Mekong River and are a great place to relax. I am a bit proud of myself that I actually managed to get some work done in this chilled and hot place; To reward myself, I rented a bicycle in the afternoon and explored Don Khon island where I found this beautiful waterfall just before sunset.

Panoramic view of a part of the bay in Marsalforn, a tiny coastal village that is found in the northeastern part of the Maltese island of Gozo (Ghawdex in Maltese). Situated in the Mediterranean Sea, just some 300 km (185 mi) north of the coast of North Africa, Malta is a very small, yet beautiful island country.
View of the Grassalkovich Palace, a majestic palace in Bratislava and the residence of the president of Slovakia. It is situated on the Hodza Square, near the Summer Archbishop's Palace. The building is a Rococo-late Baroque summer palace with a French garden.
This is a sunset scene I captured from a boat at the Aegean sea of Greece. I took a boat trip from the old Venetian harbor of Chania, a city on the northwest coast of the Crete island. I enjoyed this beautiful serene moment at the golden hour.
This shot is from a hidden little paradise of the Aegean Sea, an amazing island that I loved at first sight! Skopelos is one of the less advertised Greek destinations and thanks to that it maintains a unique authenticity! Ideal for hiking lovers and for those who want to reconnect with nature during their vacations!
Here i share with you my interpretation of the "Rusty Nail" which is located in Brandenburg, Germany. Europe ;-)
Its a pretty cool 30m tall steel structure that gives you a great overview of the surrounding lakes. In my original post i have a few more interesting version of lighting this viewing tower during the blue hour.
Flaming Cyprus
Early bloody morning at perfect rocky coastline of Northern Cyprus. Well, it is perfect for landscape shooting, but for actual swimming you have to find some rare and short sand beaches all along.
Shot from a top of the rocky coast with quite a vertical view down to the seaside
Soft and insane colors of early and calm sunrise
Enjoy the scenery!
Sintra is probably the most popular day trip to take from Lisbon, but it takes a fair amount of planning. The monuments are very spread out, so it’s impossible to walk everywhere.
This is the view of Coniston Water from the 'The Old Man of Coniston'. This was taken after storm Erik caused lots of flooding and drove people away from the sides of the hill, making it a nice quiet hike. This particular walk is full of old abandoned mines, great to explore!
A national one this time: view from the Alqueva dam, in the region of Alentejo, Portugal. The flooding of once dry areas originated landscapes like this, with trees popping out of the water; even better at sunset time!
The Vesuvius, Naples, Italy. During his last explosion, in the year 79, he destroyed Pompeii, Herculaneum, Oplontis and Stabies and his last eruption was in 1944. Let's hope that he will not wake up anymore, otherwise thousands of lives will be destroyed. A small walk on this volcano is possible and quite easy. It allows us have a nice view on the near by cities.
This photo was taken in the gardens of the Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, after a heavy sown fall. It was taken some years ago during he month of February. These gardens are very nice and one of my favorites places in the Austrian capital.
There are too many beaches in Dubrovnik to count, and some are more touristy than others. Banje Beach is the most popular, and it is the most unique place to go swimming around Dubrovnik.
Hungarian Parlament Building.
Today I decided to submit a photo I've taken in my favorite city of Europe - Budapest.
Hungarian Parliament Building is the tallest building in Budapest, it lies on the bank of the Danube River.
