7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Asian Sunday week #27 – winner announcement!

@justdentist Asian Sunday entry:

Cormorant Fisherman in China. Here is one of my favorite photos from our trip to China last year. I also featured it in my "Faces of China" post. If you take part in Tomas, aka @czechglobalhosts, contest for a longer period of time, you'll might have seen some photos of the fisherman. After being a fisherman for several decades he now mainly works in the tourist industry as a model. I guess it's kind of a win-win-situation for him and tourists like us. He's wearing his traditional outfit. Once in a lifetime experience! Have a great week everybody.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #27 – winner announcement!

@bluebottlefilms Australian Monday entry:

This photo is from Rottnest Island in Western Australia. The island is commonly called "Rotto" in Australia, we tend to abbreviate everything over here. It's a beautiful island that is protected and famous for it's healthy population of quokkas.

This is another sunset photo I took during my recent trip to Sayulita, Mexico. The sunsets and sunrises overlooking the Pacific Ocean were really lovely and peaceful. There's an incredible amount of natural beauty in this part of the world from sandy beaches to lush green vegetation. And there's so much wonderful food to experience here too!

What an amazing shot Matt! Truly stunning!

A very angry Pacific Ocean and grounded Pasha Bulka at Newcastle. Record ocean swell heights of 14.13m (46ft) were recorded at the deep water buoy 10km (6.2 miles) off Sydney with 296mm (11.6 in) of rain falling in the 24 hour period.

Nice, is it the famous ephemeral surf spot I saw in a few magazine? The one only a few surfer ran in the water to be able to ride the waves created by the boat before the authorities banned them?

What a great entry! Thank you so much for sharing with everyone. Tomas

Small and beautiful Malta - heavenly perfect shoreline for landscape photographers with a lot of very interesting rock formations.
One of the very fine and interesting examples is here. Got incoming wave on a big longer exposure

Enjoy the scenery!

That's cool :) ... Natural pool are just awesome to enjoy the sunset in a perfect state of relaxation!

Hah, photographers normally do not have any free minute to relax during sunsets :D You know....

What a great image that is. I love Malta, a unique place.

Sunset in El Nido, a small fishing village in the island of Palawan, Philippines, nestled between the Sulu sea and South China sea. El Nido is popular for being the gateway to the Bacuit archipelago, a group of islands with picturesque, steep karst cliffs.

What a lovely shot! Thank you so much! What a great place Palawan is! I love it there. Tomas

You've been there, that's awesome!

This photo was taken at Hannah Point in the South Shetland Islands just north of the Antarctic Peninsula. The place was teaming with different species of penguins and elephant seals. These particular penguins are gentoo penguins.

Black Sea storm
WY1A6594 2.jpg
Canon EOS 5D Mark III, 19 mm, f/5, 30 s, ISO 2000

It was last week. In the evening in Sevastopol, a real storm began. To make this photo I lay down on the edge of the cliff, pressed myself to the ground and pressed the tripod with the camera, so that a hurricane wind would not throw us off the cliff.
And the sea raged so much that even in total darkness it was white from the sea foam a few hundred meters from the shore.

А зачем такое страшное ИСО?

Так ночь же. 30 секунд не хватало, а за пультом ползтт было вообще не вариант)

Scary but beautiful!

Sunset in the sea can have another meaning. When not only the sun but you yourself plunges into the water. The sky on the surface explodes with bright clouds. And the underwater world is completely transformed. The daily inhabitants hide and fall asleep. They are replaced by nocturnal creatures.
All this process is not long at all. Less than an hour is required for nature to completely change over to another state. If I succeed, I always try to spend this time in or near water. Especially if it's as nice and warm as the Philippines. Of all the places where I was, there are some of the most beautiful sunsets.

Wow! Truly stunning! Thank you so much for this submission. Tomas

I'm choosing a sunset from Easter Island with silhouettes of Moai in the foreground. Nobody knows how the Rapa Nui moved the Moai into position but in my opinion the most interesting theory is the oral tradition stating that the Moai walked into place.

Yet another stunning image of yours! Thank you so much for your participation. Tomas

This beautiful sunset is given to us by the island of Margarita, in Venezuela, on a beach called Punta Arenas. A special place to fish, take a boat ride, see a brilliant sunset, you can also dive and see a wonderful world under the sea. It's a place that makes you fall in love

Hmmmm, what a beautiful sunset! Wish to be there right now:)....

A lighthouse off the coast of Maine, seen from near the Portland Head Light, during a lovely colourful, stripey sunrise. I wonder if a lonely lighthouse keeper used to live out there?

Thank you! :)

Take me to the golden sand beaches, where the sun shine and the wind is warm. Take me to a remote place surrounded by turquoise water, where the wave wash seashell on the sand. Take me right there... To Paradise :)

Location: Australia.

Anfi Del Mar beach in Gran Canaria

Tropical white sand beach and a massive resort situated in the south of Gran Canaria. There is a rumour that the owner brought the sand from Puerto Rico to make it look like the Caribbean.

Sunrise at Cieva Cove on the Antarctic Peninsula on February 28, 2018. Shortly after this photo I guided a zodiac cruise through the ice bergs and brash ice in search of marine mammals. There is a very active glacier there called, Gregory Glacier and as a result lots of glacial ice (foreground) is floating around.

Indian ocean, a part of Île aux Cerfs in Mauricius. I never saw such a clear water where you could easily see the fishes from the deck of the catamaran. The dark parts in the water are the coral reefs, there is plenty of them.
Ahoj!

This is the beautiful beach of Mirarmar located in the vicinity of the city of Porto, Portugal. Without a doubt it is one of the most beautiful beaches in this country, its oceanic waters are the limit between two worlds America and Europe, separated by the majestic Atlantic ocean.

Photo below is from Seychelles. To be precise it is from La Digue Island and name of the beach is Anse Patates. I prefer this beach over more famous Anse Source D'Argent. We could say that second one offers even better possibilities for photography but pleasure of swimming and natural shadow under the palm trees wins it for Anse Patates.
