The Bethlehem Chapel was built in 1391. It was huge at that time. It could be up to 2,000 people i it. That was 5% of all Prague citizens.
Master Jan Hus preached in it. But the chapel was abolished during the reforms of Emperor Jsef II. In 1786 she had to be demolished. It threatened to fall.
It was rebuilt in the 1950s. According to preserved drawings and archaeological research. In addition to church purposes, the chapel serves as an assembly hall for several Prague universities.
