I like puttering around in the garden and hiking uphill. I am okay with company when going down, but going up, I like to get into a meditative state of just walking and breathing and walking. Actually, depends on the length of the hike. We hiked Mt Whitney (22 mi with an elevation gain of over 6000 feet) and I did appreciate to have a friend close by.

It is definitely fun to hike with friends. But sometimes, I like to just focus on my breathing when going up the hill, kind of meditation for me too. Besides, it is hard to talk to someone while hiking lol.
