What happens when you travel and know people in every city in the world?
Soon, we may be able to answer just that question. The larger that the steemit community grows and the more users that join us, the more diverse our community becomes as well. The more we interact and hare with one another, the more friends that we have all over the world. Suddenly, there are people from every nation that know us and are willing to "roll out the red carpet" for us if we are ever in their area. This is a peculiar scenario indeed!
I've made the joke periodically to @bluerthangreen that if @papa-pepper ever needed to flee the United States, at least I would know people wherever I went. A joke, to be sure, and exaggerated a bit too, but still, the concept is not that far from becoming reality.
AIR B&B
Many of you may be familiar with "AIR B&B". According to Wikipedia:
Airbnb is an online marketplace and hospitality service, enabling people to lease or rent short-term lodging including vacation rentals, apartment rentals, homestays, hostel beds, or hotel rooms.
Truly, there is not that much preventing us steemians from doing the same. Say you have a spare bedroom in a city that is a well-known travel destination. What is to prevent you from allowing other steemians to spend the night when they are in town and pay you in STEEM, for a fraction of what an over-priced hotel would cost? We have our own community and currency that bonds us together now, and the potential perks of that are incredible.
Currently, the @papa-pepper tribe is about to head down to the home of @xtrodinarypilot & @xtdnrymompreneur in Texas. Just like when dropped in on @dwells & @essentialoilmom on Sunday, this is another couple that we have only "met" on steemit. Yet, they are another couple willing to have "people form the internet" over, both times on very short notice. I only suggested to @xtrodinarypilot that perhaps we could drop by on Sunday night, and now on Tuesday, we should be arriving.
This time, the steemians that we are meeting are in another state, and we will be spending the night. So far as I know, there will not be charging us (but this post may give them some ideas).
C'MON DOWN
So then, when kind and friendly people from all over "know" who you are, and may even be willing to have you over or spend the night, it really makes things easier on you if you travel. I honestly think that if I wanted to take my family on a cross country road trip, we could plan a course and only stay at the homes of steemians. How wild would that be?
Anyway, I can't wait to get back to Texas and meeting the family of @xtrodinarypilot & @xtdnrymompreneur in person will be incredible. These are truly interesting times to be a steemian, and I am impressed with the things that this platform and community are creating in my life. I honestly do consider a lot of you to be my actual friends, and we are seeing that played out more and more in real life as time goes on.
Perhaps after I build my family a house I'll build a guest house too, and list it on steemgigs as a STEEM B&B!!! I'll see you in Texas!
Until next time…
Don’t waste your time online, invest it with steemit.com
My Family makes a living renting Guest Houses. We had over thousands of Guest stay with us before, let me tell you! You want to invite the good Steemit Folks over and sharing your house with Guests is not such a crazy Idea afterall you still get to earn from it while getting to know others. I prefer platforms like Airbnb, and use platforms like Booking.com and do occasionally get some not so friendly people but overall the experience has been good so far. Heads up to ''Steem B&B'' definitely like the idea of that. And please do visit Malaysia, USD is at all times high and there many routes to this part of South Asian, head over and you'll be my first special Steem Guests. I love talking to my Guests about Steemit, around 2 of them earned their stay by writing posts about their Penang Holiday.
I'll keep you in mind if I ever head that direction. It is a great idea! Thanks!
This is a great thought and possible to become true We @gococonuts a.k.a. Mark en Suzanne are starting our worldjourney real soon and we have written a post about Meeting steemians all over the world. What started as a wild gamble is now turning out to going to meet dozens of steemians the next couple of months in various countries :) How cool is this?! I never imagined when starting on Steemit there would be so many cool and kind people who are becoming friends and are willing to show us their country.
Whenever you are leaving the US for Amsterdam, know that you are welcome at our place and we will give you a tour whenever we can :)
Very, very cool! Enjoy the trip.😎
We sure will. Thanks 😎
Yeah, I think this is the biginning

Brilliant idea! In fact, I did send you an open invitation a few hours ago, from South Africa. I live in a lesser known city called Witbank, or Emalahleni, as it is now called, in the province Mpumalanga. We live close to some of the most beautiful scenery in South Africa, and we would be happy to serve as tour guides as well. How is that for an idea? A little bit of steem could come in handy. I think I am now going to prepare my guest rooms. Steemians will be welcome.
That sounds great!
@papa-pepper dont forget that when you flee United States for Germany , I will welcome you with a Bavaria cold beer and a Nurnberger Bradwurst ...steemit is beautiful because of people like you making this platform a more interesting place.
I'd almost come just for the bratwurst... Almost. Thank you!
hhaaaahaha welcome. See my latest blog post for the free beer and bradwurst and select the one you want..haha
Very nice idea!
Excellent idea... Steemians don't even need to charge for overnight stay... it can be compensated with just an upvote... that would be really cool!
Right, upvotes for a bed, upvotes for breakfast!
I like it. We'd probably want private messaging first.
I'm happy to let certain steemers know where I live, but I don't want it publicly on the blockchain forever.
exactly my thoughts. And as the platform gets bigger some bad elements are sure to follow.
Agreed. I use steemit chat right now for that.
steemians are like power rangers, at some time if anything opposes steem we are going to collectively form into some megatronic titan and knock them out of our way.
all aboard the steem train!
Such a cool idea! Supporting that idea from switzerland too :)
What a great idea! I hope you go further all the way with this idea. I'm sure you'r going to have a lot of success. Personaly I would rather chose a Steem based service insted of AirBandB
Me too, STEEM all the way!
We airbnb out a couple of our rooms. But we also invite people from bewelcome to stay with us for free. I feel like, if a steem friend were coming by, it would feel more like the latter situation than the former. I guess it's a grey area, feelings-wise. And it would probably depend on what the circumstances in which they were asking were. But in general, if you need a place to sleep tonight, we'll find you a bed... unless we run out of beds. Some folks sleep in the pantry, though, so if you're cool with that, you're welcome to crash amongst the canned goods.
Very cool, but what are you doing up this early/late?
My wife is reviewing audition submissions for a short film she wrote, so I'm making good use of exhausted brain.
That's amazing on the extra! I see that reality coming to life, and of course it depends on us steemians, if we Dim it fit lets go for it. This is one of the post to be seriously reckoned with. Steem is just warming up.
That's right, we are just getting started!
I never thought of that. It's not stupid at all.
Thanks!
Great post! I also had compiled a brief similar to yours if you or anyone wanted to check out, its basically for people new to the cryptocurrency thing!! Do follow and leave an upvote! Thank you!

@papa-pepper. That is an interesting idea. Not only would it provide easy locating n of accommodation in strange cities but would also have the added attraction of getting the accommodation with someone who has a common interest -Steemit. I think it would work. You do. One up with very unusual ways of leveraging Steemit and bonding with Steemians. Great!!
I have continued my passion for nature and wildlife blogs and written one about my early morning bird adventure. I request you to take a look when you have time and provide your valueable comments. Thanks.
No dreams is too high i guess. It is doable.
Indeed, I will be charging. The price of steem is falling lol. Totally kidding but believe me i have no shortage of ideas and that was one of them.
Cool! Thanks again! Just about to leave!
This is a great idea!
I love how the internet is finally turning out to be something which it was really supposed to be. And we are a part of it.
Brilliant!
Thank you @papa-pepper :)
love the dog
I know, right? Thank you!
Cheers.
Very interesting idea, I myself I am a member of steemit since a couple of months and can confirm that some very good and interesting relationships can be build via this platform. Steem B&B would be just another amazing add-on to this already amazing community.
Personally I would be happily accepting fellow steemians as quests!
Cool! I think a lot of steemians feel that way.
Oh yes, I'm very very certain about that!
Air BnB is an evolution from Couch Surfing. Upvoted. Resteemed.
Yeah, if you are crashing on my couch, you better at least lose some change in it! LOL- I guess that's the new mentality.
Thanks!
Totally doable and only a matter of time when it becomes popular.
I think so too. Kind of already doing it!
As a newish world traveler originally from the great state of Texas, with a background in vacation rentals, who lives in and does events for a guesthouse in Phnom Penh, Cambodia at the moment I must say... I am intrigued and impressed by your idea @papa-pepper.
Keep us posted for how well this goes!
Thanks, it just seems to be what is already beginning to happen.
great post..
the more friends me make around cities of d world, d more we build a safer world, d more we feel safe wherever we go
sounds good:)
Really love your idea!
This is a wonderful idea! I'd love to see this organized as a sub-marketplace of Steemit (on a separate site, like steemit chat).
He loves your idea too:
Steemit and Steemits just get better and better. New ideas seem to crystallize overnight. As a community we are initiating change. I'm blown away by all the creative ideas emanating from this group.
That's an awesome idea that we are able to truly connect with people from all around the world. Not only that, but what's unique to Steemit is the fact that it promotes the concept of giving. This can only get better!
Nice post :)
Only getting better! Thanks!
I'm curious.. I couldn't help but notice that you have made 22k+ posts already.. How have you been able to achieve that?
Comments are counted in that number, plus I've been at it for a year now.
That's a really impressive number for a user that has been on for any amount of time! Well done man. It's fairly easy to tell that you have been very consistent with your work.
How many posts do you average per day?
Four about the past year, it has been three or four every day. Plus, I like to comment a lot.
I consider the whole thing to be an investment in the community, and people seem to enjoy it. Also, consistently putting out multiple quality posts every day is a lot of work, but it is rewarding. Thanks!
Yeah, just to be clear, when I say 'posts', I don't just mean the actual blog posts. I am talking about the number in one's profile. So in that case, the total :)
4 posts a day multiplied by 365 days in a year only gives 1460 actual posts :) Leaving a ton more in comments and replies :P
I think the key is definitely consistency. You are very right :) It is the main concept I promote in all of my content when I am proving any point to achieving success in any field.
You are welcome to let me know what you think of my content :) I value your opinion, and would like to further connect.
Talk soon!
At my place you are the most welcomed anytime! When you feel you have to flee the US, rest assured Mauritius is here!!!
Cheers
@progressivechef
that would be great dear @papa-pepper. ever willing to accommodate fellow steemians anytime.
Great Thought @papa-pepper. You always come up with something interesting. Keep it up and best of luck. 👍 Upvoted. 😊
Interesting. Thanks.
Really cool idea. If u ever want to travel to Kenya in Africa, my place is open to fellow steemians :) Bed, breakfast, dinner..safaris with excellent views :)
This is a famtastic idea and how cool is that
😊 thx for sharing.cheers
What happens when you travel and know people in every city in the world?
You probably do not even remember the name of each one of them ;)
If in any case, a steemian would visit my place, I will offer mine for free :). They can stay whenever they like it
This is an awesome thing to bring up! I've already met people in several countries, states, cities (near me), etc... No more hotels boys!!! Thanks for the advice!
This like couchsurfing but then with people you actually 'know'. Could be great!
That is awesome. Steemit brings people from all walks of life and from all nations and tribes together. It has some benefits.
In Bonsai we have done this for generations and we learned we are a borderless world, just Bonsai artist coming together. Resteemit to see how many others will understand the concept.
yeah i think it's a great idea, part of the reason for the steemit creative retreat i'm slowly putting the information around.
I have a spot for you @papa-pepper when you come this way :)
Fantastic idea! I think it could really work, merging the online community of Steem into the physical world. We are on board for this! VE-Team
Hospitality awakens once again! Not such a crazy idea, I am all for it!
I was just discussing this concept with my girlfriend the other night seeing that we have an unused room at the moment.
yes !! its a great idea..... it really sounds good. nice post.
If we can manage to purchase the house we're living in, I wouldn't be against letting Steemians come stay while passing through.
In fact, I've been thinking about finishing the garage that the previous occupants began converting into a bedroom and turning it into a studio apartment for others to use while passing through. As my husband and I travel long distance with our cats, pets would always be allowed in the studio apartment. And there's a fenced-in backyard where dogs can run and play while staying!
Unrelated to the post: I sent you some messages on Discord regarding STEEM-POCALYPSE. I know you're busy and traveling, so when you get the chance, please get back to me.
Take care, be careful, and safe travels!
