So.. Who else here wakes around 6 in the morning on a regular basis? It seems these days my natural wake-up time is 6am... I don't even go to bed super early or anything. I average a going to bed at 11 probably. Sure there are times when I'm out by 9 and the early wake-ups makes sense then.
Anyhow, here I am the only soul in my house up and about, so I figured I should be writing a little something. I realize I haven't posted anything related to my travels in a while. After all these years I finally started to put it all into my blog: My First Back Packing Trip
There are a few chapters so far and I hope to eventually make it into a book, a kind of travel diary I guess. There are some intense moments in there so it'll be pretty fun to read.
Today I'm not writing about my travels, though I can say that this winter is starting to make me want to take off with my family to some tropical islands and just be a beach bum for a couple months just playing and exploring the places. My computer keeps showing some amazing photos of the world too and this is a place I'd like to visis some day:
It's called Koh Panyee and is a special village floating on the sea in Phang Nga Bay. It is part of the Ao Phang Nga National Park. The floating island lies in the shadow of a high limestone rock formation in a sheltered bay at sea.
I feel like I have visited other places with loads of docks like this village in Thailand, but I don't this was the place... it feels much bigger than where we went. It definitely wasn't too far from it though. But then again now a days nothing is really too far!
So yeah I get the winter blues every year but we haven't really gone traveling the way we used to. And I miss that. When I saw the movie The Beach, I was blown away as to how close they were able to make the audience feel what it's like to travel on a budget through foreign lands. And obviously there's a bunch of stuff in the movie that isn't all that realistic but overall they ready did a great job. As a matter of fact anytime I hear Mobi's music from this movie I get goose pumps and feel a sort of melancholy and all I wanna do is get back out there in the unknown!.
Just listening to it as I'm writing this makes me go a little crazy inside... Feeling trapped but at the same time super grateful I traveled for so many years all over the world!
Once money starts rolling in again we'll get back out there. We don't have much choice, our 10 year old already has the travel bug... He's creating itineraries all over this planet.... He recreated a world map just yesterday that he color coded with the places he wants to see, and graded them from 1 to 10. Bhutan and Nepal being hit top priority countries to visit!!!
Well we have some dreaming to do for now... I don't know if it's still like when I went into Bhutan.. .the visas were priced at around $250/day. there's a commercial border with India that's free to go through but you cannot get out of that area and see the real Bhutan. I did get to try their food though!
We'll get back out there eventually... we're just going through a rough patch, Hollywood isn't providing my daily bread anymore, so I'm rebuilding a new business! Wish me luck and see you later!

Seems to have worked like a charm embedding that youtube video.
I never been to Asia before and I am over 40 now.
Waking up at 6am is my normal go to and I can assure you it is because Hollywood was your way to make money.
I am still waiting fo my first job in 2025 and building a small business as well to get some extra cash in.
Traveling is the best. I wish I could do more but life is rough in Austria as well right now...
Oh yeah I ended up just posting the link from YouTube to make that work. And what's the business you're starting?
Already started it doing small repairs in IT and TV for a larger business. They provide me with clients and I give the a provision,
Mostly I am fixing elderly peoples tv or computers
Oh that's great 👍 I'm going with maintenance of homes or handyman service
That is great, something that is always needed.
yeah true
Oh geese, yeah, I think Europe in general is getting hit a lot harder than the US in terms of inflation and economic fall out!
Keep building you thing tho cause eventually we'll see the other side of the speed bump
