I distinctly remember some of these sights during my visit to Venice around 4 years ago. The islands you mention were just off the coast? Also the kind of look of the buildings could be considered 'worn out' but they just add to the flavor and atmosphere of the place. I think we visited in March or April but the climate even then was good, and blue sky all around.
