Child Monk Statue and Curved Line of the Building in Gaesim-sa Temple

The Child monk statue near the pond was so impressive.

There were lots of children monk statue in other temples. But unlike those statues in other temples, this statue was very serious in meditation.
Just looking at this serious meditation statue made my mind peaceful. I could’ve shared the feeling of peace with the statue. I mean, it’s like that I could receive mysterious energy from the serious statue.

As walking to the entrance of the temple, there was a pavilion for the bell.

This pavilion was very interesting, its pillars were bending. It seemed not easy to maintain the balance and to sustain the weight of the roof. It looks strange though, this pavilion with bending pillars made me very peaceful.

The curved line could be said as the most important characteristic in Korean traditional architecture. I could find other curved lines among the buildings in this temple as below.

The child monk was very impressive a statue but my breath was taken away at the sight of Fig 3, 4 and 5 as their colorful nature actually brought peace to me the viewer. This is amazing, thanks for sharing . You’re much appreciated

동자승 귀엽네요.ㅎㅎ 휘어진 기둥은 환경친화적으로 만든걸까요? 무지 신기합니다.

The bronze monk is finely crafted.

@slowwalker, Of course...Those very serious meditation child monk statue expand our mind. Remembered that childhood hadn't any lifestyle passion. Best time to start meditation under childhood. If we got some results from it we can continue passed our younger age. Sure we can get mysterious energy. Very impressive pavilion patterns indeed Gaesim-sa Temple.

The curved line could be said as the most important characteristic in Korean traditional architecture.

Fully agreed. I've seen through your blogs already it. Korean architecture seriously amazing. There are so many fascinating designs carved. Exactly brilliant description and photo clicks you uploaded here.

One could say that they knew to take advantage of the imperfections of the materials that they used for those structures and that no matter how they looked they achieved the objective, besides the colorful ones that are some structures! Thank you for sharing these photos with us

All statues seem pretty peaceful, but that one especially does. Looks like a wonderful place.

The little monk who specializes in meditation makes something different behind your photography beauty, namely the power of the mind and getting rid of worldly passions which are always misleading.

ABSOLUTELY stunning child monk statue ❤ Love it. Perfect color and balance and beautiful presentation. The roof is very colorful and lovely design. absolutely fantastic!
wonderful atmosphere there and love your style. God bless you.

Those pillars look amazing so twisted though I would be a bit afraid to put myself underneath. 😱

The children monk statue is sculptured so detailedly!
I'm also amazed by the bent pillars of the bell pavilion.
The photos of the pavilion are marvelous.
