Welcome to the first edition of A Travellers Guide to ATMs.
About This Project.
The aim is to provide readers with a regularly updated and easy-to-read list, showing which ATMs are the best option for withdrawing cash abroad. The list will consist of countries listed from A to Z and banks that charge either, none or the lowest fees for cash withdrawals using foreign cards.
This project will rely on the steemit community to keep it up-to-date. I have kicked things off with a short list containing all the information I know from personal experience. You are welcome to verify or correct this information in the comments section. You can also add countries to the list by providing the relevant details in the comments. I will add the information from the comments section to next weeks edition of the list.
Anyone who contributes information will be credited in a section at the end of each post, where I will encourage readers to visit their blog. Going forward, if this project gathers steam (excuse the pun) and goes on to become successful, I will try to devise a way of rewarding contributors with either Steem or SBD. Any feedback or suggestions on a fair way of doing this would be welcomed.
(This list shows ATMs that charge no fees for using foreign cards. If no ATMs are free for tourists to use in a country, the cheapest known option is listed instead).

Great initiative! But there are only a few countries in the world (Thailand, US, Mexico, and Cuba are the only ones from that list I have been to) where there are always fees for using ATMs; I haven't found one ATM that was not free in five months in South America for example, so maybe it would make sense to only include countries on this list where it actually makes a difference which bank you choose (or mark the other countries green or something like that).
In Morocco I went to ATMs by four different banks, the only one that wanted to charge me a "foreign transaction fee" was Société Générale, the rest had no fees, so if you want to include this one as a bank not to go to feel free to include it on the list :)
That's interesting, thanks for the info. I'm playing things by ear at the moment, so I'm not sure how the list will develop. It's always been my experience travelling in Asia and South America that most ATMs charge fees for using foreign cards, and finding ones that don't is the difficulty. If a country mostly has ATMs that don't charge fees, I guess I'll have to add it to the list in a different way.
If I added Morocco to the list in this format, would you say that it's accurate?
Morocco
There is also the option to sign up for an account which offers to refund ATM Fees worldwide! We have the Schwab Brokerage Account which is free AND we get a refund of all the fees towards the end of the month. So we don't even think about which ATM to use.
Thanks for the info, that sounds like a great deal. Is this the account you mean? Schwab Banking. It's a checking account that must be linked to a brokerage account. Looks like it's for US residents only.
If I add this to the 'Card Information' table like this. Would you say that is accurate?
US Cards
Information
Schwab Brokerage Account + Checking Account (Visa)
