As I told you, there are many amazing things in most temples in Thailand, even in a small temple like this one, I think, the architecture of the buildings, the pagoda, or sculptures in this temple can attract your eyes.
This temple is situated on the way from Chiang Mai to Mae Hong Son province, in the North of Thailand. The building in the first photo is my most favorite…. It’s small and just simple, but beautiful in my eyes. And as you may know, I like that it’s close to nature and among bright green trees.
Pagoda is another important building that temples in Thailand have and each pagoda is magnificent by their own style of each regions, like this one.....
Apart from making merit which is the main purpose that we go to the temple, another thing that we can also get from going to the temple is to find peace in our mind; i.e. most temples in Thailand are quiet places and it’s good for meditation as well.
This temple is one good sample…
“Naga” is one of important sculptures that most temples in Thailand have. And most of them are situated at the edge of the stairs, like this one. I like its amazing head and the colorful body.
As you may learn from my old posts, we believe that “Naga” acts as a bridge that brings us to heaven.
In most temples in Thailand, there are not only sculptures that represent Buddhism, but there are also sculptures that represent other religions such as the below sculpture which is called “Ganesha” in English. According to Hindu, he is the Lord of Success.
This one is very beautiful with lovely colors!
If you visit temples in Thailand, you will see “temple dogs” and in this temple, you will see “temple hens” as well….. ;)
And the “red cars” that you will see in the below photos are the vehicle signature of Chiang Mai. If you visit Chiang Mai someday, you will see them everywhere…. At least, you see them from my post now…. ;))
Um! There are so many interesting things to see in this temple, right? ;)
@tangmo,
Like you said, yeah it's a beautiful and a colorful architect! Stunning photo collection and thanks for sharing!
Cheers~
Thanks a lot! I'm happy to hear that you like the architect and the photos. ;)
The temples and pagodas are amazing, so bright and decorative. So much gold in both buildings and statues. I can imagine it is very relaxing being inside, and particularly the outdoors area of the one's with gardens and such. I remember the chicken has importance, but cannot remember what it is, exactly. But you did the post with them lining the road.
A DDS original question: Are the red Chiang Mai vehicles to give people rides around the area, or pick them up to visit? Mr. Curious has to ask his ?? here, like usual.
Thanks for another view of the amazing temples and other sights of your area. So much to see, so little time. Have a nice day my friend, though by the time you get this, it will probably be dark I :
Many thanks for your nice comment. Yeah! We believe that golden color is an auspicious color, so most of architectures, statues, or buildings in temples were decorated with this color.
I like that it’s very relaxing and peaceful, too.
Oh! I’m much surprised that you still remember the chicken statues that were lining on the road in my old post. Really great!!! ;)
Regarding DDS original question, the red Chiang Mai vehicles are for multi-purposes, it’s up to the ones who hire them; they can give people rides around the area or pick them up to visit. Hope this can answer your question, Mr. Curious! ;)
Have a wonderful night, GFF! ;))

This is a very nice and quiet temple!! It is surrounded by big trees. This seems like a very old temple. The sky is bright blue! This has been a very good trip!

The temples are always beautiful no matter the size and I always love to see the Nagas. Like I said before, I think I would visit the temples every day for the peace and quiet and inner peace. Beautiful photos as usual @tangmo! : )

Really interesting to see Ganesh in the temple, @tangmo. Also realized in Thailand he tends to be pink but not so much in the Hindu temples. Thanks for sharing the lovely pictures :)

Thanks so much! I'm glad you like the pictures. The red cars are for multi-purposes and, this time, they took people around the town, including camping, as you guess, too. ;)
