As far as I know, our oak trees face some diseases, but not affecting them much. Guess the worst is having scarce areas of oak groves!
We remove it (invasive plants) by pulling the young individuals and by peeling the bark. Thanks for asking, I think that will deserve a post in the coming days (probably next treetuesday)!
Yes. It does. This is my big beef with the native plant people here. They are so pro using herbicide!! Drives me crazy!
They use herbicide to kill weeds?!
Here in Portugal there is a recent law that prohibits regular people to use "heavy" herbicides, they only can buy diluted herbicides in supermarkets. That's why in volunteer actions we usually don't use it.
I wished nobody could use it!! It is so bad for everything, including our health!
I understand, but I still accept its utilization, in sporadic situations, like to kill invasive plants that can't be removed/ killed by other means.
