RE: Quick post to add some info in response to @dollarvigilante youtube live stream...

in #tutorial8 years ago

Thanks for the additional value. I got some good info from the webinar/stream. My STEEMIT was going down from yesterday, so I though you gave your coins away when you share and upvote, post etc, but I learned it is fluctuations in price.

I did just think about "duplicate content" and content you didn't create. Plagiarism. Was wondering if one could do the exact thing you described, then realized that it will not get upvoted (probably) so it won't be worth it.

Just my 2c

Worse than not get up voted. If someone takes claim for the work someone else did, and does not credit them they very well might get down voted, which takes potential earnings away, and can lower the reputation of your account.

Oh! There is downvoting? Didn't know that!

It is the flagging he mentioned in the webinar. I recommend not using it unless you absolutely need to. Taking money away from people seems to have a larger psychological impact than giving it to them.

I can't force you to follow my suggestions... but my suggestions RE: the down vote are to do it only for:

Plagiarism, Spam, or obvjous abuse (calling abusive names, etc)

It is that little FLAG in the upper right corner.

Please don't flag content simply because you don't like it. If you don't like it, then don't vote for it. That's pretty simple. They won't make money from you. At least you give people who have an interest in that topic a chance to up vote things they are interested in.

We need to be an inclusive community. So if you don't like something... move on.

There is also a MUTE feature. You can MUTE a person by visiting their profile and you'll no longer see their posts, comments, replies. So if someone is truly trolling you (disagreeing does not mean trolling) then you may want to MUTE them. Really we don't have many problems with this on steemit, but that could change as more and more people come here.
