RE: Miscellany Ulog

What a day!!! And we are water-drama-partners right now. My kitchen sink is leaky, and we have to clean the dishes in the bathroom (we try to find a replacement today and repair it) I hope your problem is already solved :-D

Also partners in cookie-dough eating... I sometimes think I only bake myself so that I can eat masses of raw dough unobserved :-D I especially love raw shortpastry (I hope this is the right term)

And with the brush: woooow - this is big. I did not even know such big brushes exist. What are you going to paint with it? Is it for water colour?

Sort:

Oh no, I'm sorry you're my kitchen sink problems partner. I am waiting on maintenance today, they did not come yesterday. I hope both our sinks are fixed ASAP!
Mmmm, raw cookie dough. And raw cake batter. And raw brownie batter. I like raw sweet dough/batter. LOL. By shortpastry, do you mean like for tarts and quiche?
The brush is for acrylic. I bought a giant size canvas (compared to the smaller ones I usually paint on) probably a year ago because I caught a really good sale on that too, but I wasn't sure what I wanted to paint on it at the time. Now I know, and now with my giant brush it will be a lot easier. :D

My kitchen sink is very stubborn. The landlord’s son tried to fix it yesterday and it worked for roughly an hour and now its dripping again 😱😱😱
And with the dough... I eat more or less everything in dough -form if its sweet and has butter in it :-DDD (I lived vegan for some years and I found this so sad, that all the vegetable butter substitutes here taste like clay)
So being back to vegetarian, butter is again in my cookies :-)
With shortpastry I meant a dough like this:
Liebesgrübchen (translates into 'love-dimple')
175 g flour
65 g sugar
125 g Butter
2 egg yolks
vanilla
salt

everything is mixed and put in the fridge. The dough is formed into balls and then filled with sour currant jelly and baked.

I know mine did not look very beautiful, but the batter is so tasty (and baked they are also amazing... in my opinion)

Ahh, OK! I used to be vegan too but now now I have too many allergies. The one margarine which was good and not terribly unhealthy we have here is called Earth Balance. The thing we didn't have was decent cheese substitute, lol.
I am a big believer in taste over looks when it comes to food! I would never be on Food Network, but I think what I make tastes good. :)
