RE: Do You Want To Get @binkley UpVotes By Proxy?

in #upvote7 years ago

I found this because of your comment on gentlebot. I guess what I would want a bot to do is read content like gentlebot does and only vote for real quality content. Your idea is good, but it ultimately just feels like another randowhale or similar, but with anonymity.

What needs to happen is bots, like gentlebot, who only upvote good content, even if that content may or may not be already popular. Sure, the goal is to make money, but having a healthy ecosystem of curator bots that aren't just looking to maximize short-term curator rewards, but rather reward the best content so that there's a real financial incentive for human users to also reward the best content... does that make sense? I worry I'm talking in circles.

The problem to solve is, how do we make the goals of the long-term success of steemit align with the short-sighted goals of individuals trying to make $?

Incentives for original, useful/entertaining/inspiring content, disincentives for spammy/plagiaristic content. And how do we make it so the vanguard doesn't lose their shirts?

Sometimes when I reply from the Esteem app which I love it will post somewhere else. Maybe my fat fingers. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and concerns. I actually responded above but it didn't go where I wanted it to and I just now noticed. I pretty much agree with you 100% I HATE SPAM. I have even cancelled proxy upvotes because I seen @cheetah. You can see it in my wallet. Building the bot to spot it like my eye does will be a challenge. Maybe if it sees the steem cleaners or similiar it can avoid the post.
