What is the Steemit Defense League
The Steemit Defense League is a group of accounts run by the spammer & plagiarist @camillesteemer (aka @mybestnews). Initially, she was flagged for spamming by @abusereports and started to make accounts using the Steemit faucet account creation to flag anyone supporting or commented on an @abusereports post.
Initially, the Steemit Defense League was just the @trollshunter and then @a-steemdefleague used to flag endlessly. In a short time, it grew from 2 flagging accounts to 15 accounts all using the default 15 SP given by the Steemit faucet. Today it is 132 accounts all attempting to abuse the Steemit Inc sign-up process and default delegation.
Delegation removal
Thanks to the redeemer-irredeemables project, I have been able to get all their account's delegation removed reducing their Steem Power to 0.100 Steem, drastically reducing his flagging power as well as his available bandwidth on the network.
I have been gathering accounts of the Steemit Defense League and submitting them on a weekly basis for removal. For a while, there were one to five new accounts on a daily basis. In the last week, there have been no new accounts identified.

If you find any other accounts abusing Steemit Inc delegation, feel free to contact me and I will have a look. I have had delegation removed from multiple faucet abuse rings nearing 200 accounts each.

What was the total SP of this 'defence league'?
Bandwidth ok, !pancakes, but ability to 'hurt' anyone, not sure?
Only about 2,010 SP, and I have said it many times that the flags are nothing. I have answered many comments from tons of minnows confused and upset about the flags to ignore them as they are only 1/10th of a cent.
But it has caused a lot of confusion and frustration, I have spent a lot of time educating users to ignore them, but it hasn't removed all the confusion and frustration from them.
I never once claimed it hurt anyone, in fact, if you look at my numerous comments on it, I have told people time and time again to ignore it. Even making one comment on this is a complete waste of my time and costs me more money in time to even respond to this comment than the entire network has caused in financial damage.
off of steem and dumping Steem.The simple fact is users don't understand flags, especially malicious ones. Look at @jerrybanfield, he lost his mind and quit Steem because he wanted to see flags removed so everyone can milk the system anyway they want, he now spends his time trying to get people
It comes down to the Broken Window Theory, if people see people getting away with bad behavior, they are likely to mimic it. The bad actors are also likely to do more and worse if they are validated by success.
I would much rather ignore all this, it's a complete waste of my time, as the flags are meaningless, but stopping it isn't.

Very time consuming but to make steemit better is worth all the work we do.

But on a serious note: what markymark did is hilarious and in HF20 the bandwith problem shouldn't be a problem at all. (If I waste my RC on popcorn memes and I don't have no more RCs then shame on me)
And actually, the amount of bandwidth from a popcorn bot is laughable in comparison to all those auto-followers & spammers.

As long as he has @pumpkin's vote (largest vote on the platform), he will be propped up high on the witness list.

I think we are gonna spend some time compiling info of some voting rings on faucet delegation we bumped into recently.
Shoot them over, I'll give you access to my collab list I share with a few for identifying stuff.

It's great that they seemed to have died down lately. When I first got downvotes from them I was really worried that some of the big spamming whales might support their cause which would have been catastrophical for many in the platform
