Hi there my Steemit friends and followers!
I just realized I have been neglecting my Cuba´s Classic series for months so let me make up for that with this shot of two classic American cars that I captured in the historic center of Havana.

The picturesque colorful buildings in the background are the iconic colonial houses found on the famous Paseo de Marti Boulevard - the same street where El Capitolio, the most recognized architectural symbol of Cuba, is also situated. In fact, the Havana Capitol is facing these colorful houses.
In most of the previous posts in the Cuba´s Classic series, I was able to identify the car brands at least but this time around, I don´t even know whether these are Chevrolets, Buicks, Dodges or something else (let alone the models). However, I am sure some of my followers will help me identify these magnificent vehicles, as usually :)
This is also my entry for today´s#vehiclephotography contest organized by @juliank and @photocontests.

Visiting Cuba must have been like traveling back in time! I'm amazed that they were able to keep these types of cars going for so long, but I guess that they really had no choice.
Oh yeah, visiting Cuba does feel like traveling in time (especially for someone like us who have a communist history too) and yeah, they had to take care of these cars since they literally had no other choice. Very good points as always :)
I wonder how Cuba will be like in 5-10 years though. From what I understand, they can now trade with the US again, so it will only be a matter of time before all these old cars are long gone.
Yeah, that is right. However, a vast majority of the locals still remain incredibly poor so it will take some time (probably decades) before they are able to afford new cars. Until then, they need to use and care for the old ones I suppose.
I didn't even think of that, but it does make sense. I'm hoping they are able to get out of poverty now that the trade restrictions have reduced. Things like Cuban cigars and rum are in heavy demand, so I suppose they have some potential for an export industry.
Cuba is actually a place full of colors, despite its harsh reality, do you know that it is an excellent place to find classic cars? those models that you show I certainly do not know them but, they must be from the 50s. Excellent photo friend!
Thanks Jose, Cuba is a true heaven for old cars fans :)
Great pic. Love the colors of both the cars and the buildings!
Thanks! :) Cuba is full of colors.
wow ..
the car is very unique. What year's car is it?
I think 1950´s :)
very steady, are you a unique car lover?
