It was fantastic yes! I was there 12 years ago - it feels like a lifetime. I headed off on a train to the north afterwards to see the rice terraces and countryside. All wonderful.
Great! Funny.. my first time in the north of Viet Nam was around 13 years ago :D
I can remember this overnight train :D
