RE: Vocab-ability Prefix–259 (ab__, abs___ = from, away) – A More Powerful Vocabulary (earn UpVotes with “Vocab Practice” exercise)

in #vocab-ability6 years ago

MY VOCAB PRACTICE:

  1. The employee had to get a doctors certificate in order to be absent on sick leave for more than three days.

  2. In medieval times, aspiring knights often tried to abduct heiresses in order to marry them and secure their fortunes.

  3. The scam artists absconded with all the coins on the cryptocurrency exchange.

  4. When the girl he asked out said no, he plunged into a state of abject depression.

Good work!

I'm not an aspiring knight, and these are not the middle ages, but I'm thinking of abducting a heiress or 2, just to "secure their fortunes." Can you recommend any available heiresses?? :-)
