RE: Vocab-ability–158 (nihil, nil = nothing) – A More Powerful Vocabulary (earn UpVotes with “Vocab Practice” exercise)

MY VOCAB PRACTICE
1. Nuclear weapons could completely annihilate life on this planet.
2. Punk rock was an outgrowth of a portion of society feeling nihilist and without hope.
3. Although it appeared that George made a great profit on his enterprise, the result was nil because it consumed all of his savings .
4. Punk rock was the creative outpouring of a portion of society feeling nihilist and without hope.

Oops I made a mistake here:
Nihilism: Nietzsche thought that science and secularism put an end to religious belief, thus introducing a philosophy of nihilism.

Very good work!

By the way, you can always "EDIT" any post or comment before it's 1 week old. So, you did not have to make a separate comment, you could have simply clicked "EDIT" and changed the second sentence.

By the way, my friends and I were punk rockers in the late 1970s. We were a bit nihilistic, but I for one always had hope. I always remained optimistic.

But nowadays I look at the world of global politics and economics and think ... if I were a youth today, I'd be a nihilistic punk!!

Yes, you are right. I should have just clicked on "edit". I am a big enough fool to remain optimistic no matter what! Maybe just my way of preserving my mental health.
