  1. Nothing makes the music teacher happier than hearing students sing in UNISON.
  2. Sometimes, loud, SONOROUS sounds are alarming and terrifying at the same time.
  3. Have you ever heard a jet’s SONIC BOOM?
  4. This crowd’s DISSONANCE is starting to irritate me.

I often find that, regardless of any dissonance, most crowds are irritating.

MY VOCAB PRACTICE:

  1. The choir sang in unison.

  2. The clock made a sonorous chime at the top of the hour.

  3. As Concorde flew through the sound barrier, a sonic boom cracked the air.

  4. Emmanuel Macron exhibited cognitive dissonance and he pretended the riots had nothing to do with his policies.

  3. The sudden sonic boom due to a bypassing military jet caused all the animals in the shelter to be in shock.
  4. It took the composer a long time to fine tune all the dissonance in his new composition.

MY VOCAB PRACTICE

  1. Unison
    Everyone moved in unison, but the sudden gunshot disrupted the movement and caused everyone to panic.
  2. Sonorous
    Lorde's new album is pretty impressive, her sonorous effects were amazing.
  3. Sonic Boom
    We felt the sonic boom of the jet almost immediately as it flew past us.
  4. Dissonance
    The meeting between both parties was in total dissonance as a result of arguments.

  1. Unison:
    They may be singing in unison but they're not on key as they do it.

  2. Sonorous:
    The sonorous hippo in the cartoon was much different to the child when he saw it on the planes of Afrika charging at the jeep he was in.

  3. Sonic Boom:
    I'm going to sonic boom my fist right through her face in tomorrow's match.

  4. Dissonance:
    The dissonance of that chord strike at my soul.


Good work! Particularly #2, which is so great that it's far beyond my comprehension. But I like it.

lol. My thought has to do with seeing a cartoon animal on TV and mistaking them with the characteristics of the real life animals.

MY VOCAB PRACTICE:

  1. Unison.
    At basic training trainees are thought by drill sergeants to march and call cadence in unison in the parade field ceremony.

  2. Sonorous
    The boss electronic music systems are designed with impressive sonorous sound to attract high-end customers.

  3. Sonic boom.
    Sometimes it can be shocking to hear a sonic boom when you’re jogging on a trail somewhere isolated.

  4. Dissonance.
    Five things a guitarist can do to eliminate dissonance sounds from a guitar are: positioning the amp correctly, understanding equalization, using pedal effects, use better speakers, and use short cables.

"MY VOCAB PRACTICE."

  1. Unison.
    The choir all sang in unison, the song written by the Choir Director, as the piano player played along.

  2. Sonorous
    When we went into the theater, the orchestra's sonorous notes permeated through the rafters with beautiful melodies.

  3. Sonic boom.
    When she saw The Concorde take off for the last time, she waited for the sonic boom as it reached even higher in the sky.

  4. Dissonance.
    The dissonance between the protesters and the politician giving his speech was deafening.
