It's the unfortunate reality of development; building a city often means sacrificing nature or, in your case, farmlands in the process.
In my city’s case, the sea is what must give way as we reclaim parts of it and turn them into land. So far, we've reclaimed 55 square miles of ocean, with another 15 square miles planned in the coming decade.
