I think that when it comes to Hive/Ecency/InLeo quality is much more important than quantity. Putting out a few informative/entertaining posts will gain you much more than a hundred 'good morning' Waves. You can do that too, but build a following

It is not about quantity, and nor about quality, but about real, genuine, mutual interest. This is what is mostly missing on the Hive blockchain, but it is present on other social networks. On the Hive blockchain, most people for some reason visibly force themselves to write comments. Many of the comments on the Hive blockchain are visibility not natural.
Looks like they write comments, because they feel that they have to say something, and not because they have something to say. There is a huge difference between these two things, and the difference is obviously visible on most of the comments.
Some people do not even know what are they write comments to. You can tell from their comments that they have not read the post. They just wrote a comment.
Honestly, nowadays I rarely write comments. I wrote mostly for myself, and by doing this, I avoid getting disappointed in this platform. Of course I reply to comments under my posts. If there are any at all.
It is seeing people churn out comments or Waves that inspired this. They are largely saying nothing and I will not reward them. There is good content on Hive and some of it generates engagement, but it takes work to achieve that. You have to either generate or support the sort of content you want to see. That support can be in comments as well as votes. I support the things I am interested in.
At least sometimes I generate it. I document my life, and if people comment, then they certainly do it with real, genuine interest in most cases, and not because they try to divert my attention to their own posts. This is one of the few, but big advantages of having a low amount of Hive power. Those, who have high amount of Hive power, cannot be certain about this in most cases.
There are many people, who focus on commenting under people, who have high amount of Hive power to catch their attention to receive an upvote from them. My voting power is currently so low (around $0.01) that I cannot even reward comments alone, because the payout threshold is $0.02. Comments under my posts are real, but at least mostly they are real, genuine. Very rarely there are exceptions even under my posts too.
I get plenty fishing for votes. Some of my posts are just life blog, but I've built a following and some may be interested. I do what is fun for me and try to support others to keep them going. I want to build up things like music here as that could be big and it's what I'm into.
Music is the best
I agree, we should use this platform for something interesting and of quality.
It can be fun too. Good jokes and funny pictures have value, but it should be original. Of course you can share important news too. Make it useful for yourself and others.
I will work on it. But this way or InLeo?
Well after I'm less busy with the family.
Thanks once again.
InLeo may have more users, but, as I said, you have to find or build an audience. These microblogs are a flood of posts, so you can get lost in there. Look at all the options.
To be honest my friend xx of all the dApps the one I like the most and the one I feel most comfortable with is ecency, maybe because I registered through it. I will follow your wise advice, and look forward to growing here at ecency.
Yes, I agree with you. 👍🤗
Yes, yes. I hope to make it in time. I'm just getting started in Hive. But I did like InLeo.
We need to think about what adds value to the platform. That can be anything as people like different things. Find your audience and make it fun for you.
Thanks for the advice. I am improvising in the literary area.
But right now I am in the hospital with my wife and daughter, so I have limited time to create original and tasteful content. On the other hand, I am a computer scientist but there are many specialists or not, creating content on technological topics, it is an area that often plagiarizes ideas by paraphrasing.
But I will think about how to diversify, for the moment the wave help me to familiarize.
I hope your family are ok. We all have things we are interested in and know something about. Find an audience for that and build communities. You do not need to be an expert. You can ask questions to stay discussions.
I hadn't thought of that. Keep giving me great ideas.
