It is not about quantity, and nor about quality, but about real, genuine, mutual interest. This is what is mostly missing on the Hive blockchain, but it is present on other social networks. On the Hive blockchain, most people for some reason visibly force themselves to write comments. Many of the comments on the Hive blockchain are visibility not natural.

Looks like they write comments, because they feel that they have to say something, and not because they have something to say. There is a huge difference between these two things, and the difference is obviously visible on most of the comments.

Some people do not even know what are they write comments to. You can tell from their comments that they have not read the post. They just wrote a comment.

Honestly, nowadays I rarely write comments. I wrote mostly for myself, and by doing this, I avoid getting disappointed in this platform. Of course I reply to comments under my posts. If there are any at all.

Sort:

It is seeing people churn out comments or Waves that inspired this. They are largely saying nothing and I will not reward them. There is good content on Hive and some of it generates engagement, but it takes work to achieve that. You have to either generate or support the sort of content you want to see. That support can be in comments as well as votes. I support the things I am interested in.

At least sometimes I generate it. I document my life, and if people comment, then they certainly do it with real, genuine interest in most cases, and not because they try to divert my attention to their own posts. This is one of the few, but big advantages of having a low amount of Hive power. Those, who have high amount of Hive power, cannot be certain about this in most cases.

There are many people, who focus on commenting under people, who have high amount of Hive power to catch their attention to receive an upvote from them. My voting power is currently so low (around $0.01) that I cannot even reward comments alone, because the payout threshold is $0.02. Comments under my posts are real, but at least mostly they are real, genuine. Very rarely there are exceptions even under my posts too.

I get plenty fishing for votes. Some of my posts are just life blog, but I've built a following and some may be interested. I do what is fun for me and try to support others to keep them going. I want to build up things like music here as that could be big and it's what I'm into.

Music is the best
