I am trying to get a new patch of them started along the drive where it is too shady for grass to grow. They look like they are doing pretty well!

Oh, I didn't know they like shade. The area where I always photograph them has lots of sun.
I think it depends on the variety? The one I have is a perennial called vinca major and it prefers shade and will even grow in dense shade. It does well on the north side of my house. There are also annual varieties and varieties that need to be in the sun.
That's interesting, because that is exactly the one that we have here. I think it grows from the other side of the fence of the property next to the side walk. Most likely, it is in the shade on the other side, but it keep growing even on the sun. I that case it will be doing well by the driveway.
