Who am I?

in #welcome3 years ago

Hi, everyone!

I don't know how you found me, but I'm Casualham!

I am a #Crypto/ #NFT/ #Gaming enthusiast, as well as a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate player, team manager for @moneymatchgaming, and a member of MMG's #SSBU team and #Axie scholarship program. I started playing with MMG in 2018, and I've never found a more down-to-earth, kind, helpful community.

As far as earnings, I started small with only my earnings from MMG's #tournaments and #matchmaking system and free earnings from #coinbase. Since then, I've worked to grow my portfolio and met numerous mentors and friends along the way. I'm a #gamer through and through, but there's nothing wrong with making a little profit.

That's where @moneymatchgaming (Discord/Twitter) comes in.

#MMG is a community of gamers that hosts various tournaments and events that reward players in a variety of games. #SSBU, #Halo and #Axie are just a few of the games they support, and there are plans to increase reward pools and extend to more games. Best of all, MMG users can engage in the #matchmaking system to compete to earn #free crypto rewards!

Between their ever-growing system and helpful streams and videos, I've grown far beyond what I could have initially hoped. My #inkling may not be winning tournaments yet, but thanks to MMG, those 8th and 13th finishes still pay out.

Thanks for reading, and I'll catch y'all later.

Inkling out!

Hey man.. sorry I was kinda a dick before but it's honestly good to meet!
And I'm glad to have been able to learn a bit about you, and I look forward to your next post.. and getting involved with the matchmaking system that you mentioned and possibly some tournaments in the future.

Don't worry about it! The similarity to the other post is, as mentioned in the other comments, part of an initiative to get more involved with crypto. I genuinely do love the community they've built and it is has been fundamental in my understanding of crypto, but I totally get what you were saying about it sounding too much like an advertisement. More importantly, thanks for taking the time to read my post! I'm new to the whole "blogging" type of thing, so I really appreciate it!

Maby this is some discord or telegram event/challenge to do outreach for their project?

Explain? The two posts are not the same when you read, but they are from the same org. Maybe try being helpful?

Is this an event/challenge that you put on on?

Yes. We are onboarding our team members that are interested in content creation. Teaching them social blockchains, crypto strategies, blockchain gaming, and defi.

This "challenge" is introduce yourself in a post on Hive.

Consider encouraging them to make an Intro post so that we can all get to know them.. not just their affiliation to your project.

some things that I am always interested in knowing is..

How or when did you first get into crypto?

How or when did you first hear about hive?

Not to be intrusive, but.. How old are you? where are you from?

[Its commonly encouraged that folks make their posts a bit longer than the bare minimum, and to put a bit of flavor and love into their content because the idea is for others to be able to show their appreciation and engage with you, and upvote and assign value to it, so really want to do your best, and take a little time to make this stuff shine!

^^ Those questions I asked ^^

Are the things you should write in your #introduceyourself post. You should consider making one.

You should stop by "The Terminal" discord channel if you have any questions, or need any help getting started. https://discord.gg/Hkj527WKad

Stop by this blog I wrote and checkout this list of helpful links I put together for new folks like you! https://peakd.com/pob/@unorgmilitia/helpful-hive-links

Thanks. All of that has actually been considered. They are learning Hive and don't do everything. I left what they wrote up to them, but gave them posts to view for inspiration in #IntroduceYourself...They are learning. They have similar experiences.

What you just wrote would have been a much better initial response to someone's first blog that reads like an introduce yourself post. Just something to consider.

I did actually write that before, but I deleted it, and edited in what I said before once I saw the similar post. And started coming to a conclusion... so I figured it was pointless because I thought these were spam.. but you guys convinced me otherwise..
I just hope that their next post, rather than being an advertisement.. might be more of an introduction of who they are, and how they see themselves contributing to the hive community.

The reason I give this advice is.

  1. So that the person can see all of the frontends and tokenized communities on hive, that they might want to introduce themselves to
  2. So that they can see the tags for those communities and use them along with the #introduceyourself tag so that their post will get in front of as many eye balls as possible
  3. Being in front of as many eyes as possible allows them the maximum exposure to upvotes and engagement..
When you say "introducing myself to the hive community" .. people actually want to talk to you and reward your content.

But when you say "who am I" and then proceed to do a business advertisement.. that's kinda frustrating.. because there is alot more I want to know about you other than what you want me and others to come participate in.

You're right, no reason to comment on their post like a human and suggest edits. Better to sic a bot on them because you know more than the person making their first post.

Maybe their second post becomes a true introduce yourself? Maybe they learn from seeing few upvotes on a post?

I've considered the things you are saying already. People, however, have free will.

My approach will be to teach them how to edit their posts our make new ones better. Keep doing your righteous downvotes.

Maby you should be a better teacher?
