It’s just a Boy with a tree.
It’s just a Boy with a tree in his surrounding.
It’s just a Boy with a tree in his surrounding who wants to get home to his family.
Here is what I feel about the photo;
His feelings are all over the place; His feelings are bittersweet; they are feelings of hope, Joy and full of so much light. That feeling is full of longing for so much that is to come within subsequent hours.
Here’s a Story about what I think it’s going on 😊🥲;
Let’s say that the boy in the Photo is Mike.
Mike is from a family of 4…A boy and a girl and you can guess that the other two are the parents.
Mike is the first child and has been for 9years until he got his sister Mae.
Currently, Mike is 12 and Mae is 4 and it just started snowing in late November.
In subsequent times,celebrations in their house were huge for the festive period but ever since their Dad got really ill 2years ago, it had taken a toll on their family’s lifestyle. His parents weren’t very wealthy but they were at least were well to do, so they did not have money to celebrate the festivities.
Mike was sad because it was the Christmas year he was supposed to spend with His sister that she would actually remember in years to come.
So He went to his mother 7days before Christmas.
“Hey mom, it’s just a couple days to Christmas, any plans this year” he asked his mom
“No dear, I’m afraid not, I mean yes we would have some food but nothing too extravagant as in the years past hun”
As she said this Mike looked so distraught.
“What is the matter dear? We did this last year, so why the long face?” She queried. But Mike did not know how to tell her his reason so he just smiled and said “Okay”
The next day, he encountered the pastor at the small congregation in his village, their conversation was just as short as the ones he had had with elders he knew in the village and as he was about to leave, a comment stopped him in his track “Do you have any plans for Christmas?”
He smiled politely and shook his head after narrating the words his mother told him. Then the pastor smiled and said to him “ You do know that you should not worry about anything but in everything through prayers and supplications make your requests known to God”
Mike stared blankly at him as the Pastor explained what He meant “Son, I know that you have always wanted a sibling to do things with, but worrying does not solve anything but instead causes us more trouble that the thought worths. You cannot do anything about it, so stop stressing about it. Don’t stress about things that are out of your control. Instead give it to God to handle”.
“But Pastor, it’s stupid. Come to think of it, I’m being ungrateful and just childish. Forget about it, it’s impossible” Mike complained bitterly and decided to leave but on his way out, the pastor rushed to him and said “Remember their is nothing impossible with God”
“But what if it doesn’t work?” Mike questioned
“Have faith and believe. When things you want doesn’t work out, that’s God’s protection and when they do work out, that’s God’s direction”.
And so, for the next few days that lead up to Christmas, Mike decided to pray and commit everything to God. He said the prayers from his heart to God in the morning and at night. And sometimes, when he was too tired to pray, he used his Father’s famous words “Lord even when my mouth is too tired to speak to you, please listen to my heart”.
During the Christmas Eve, nothing felt like it was working as everyday, he asked his mom what their plans for Christmas were and she sighed before replying “Mike, you have been asking this question for days now but that doesn’t change the fact that we…”
Just then, her phone started to ring and the sound woke up Mae who began to cry.
“Go see to your sister, I’ll be back”
Mike felt disheartened and decided to go to his sister and with tears in his eyes, he spoke once more “ God, please, I know that you can hear me. God, I just want to do something special with my sister this year, some that she can remember in a few years to come. Lord, from what my Pastor told me, he said that nothing is too impossible for you to do. And so, here I am in submission to that word. I don’t want this for selfish purposes, lord. Please hear me. Amen”
As He finished the prayers, he turned to see his mom just standing by the door seal with tears in her eyes.
“Mom…” he tried to explain but his mom hastily walked up to him and gave him a hug.
“Oh! Mike…” she cried and then both mother and son cried.
After a while, Mike’s mom dried her tears and said “My sweet little boy, God has heard your prayers. We are going to the city tomorrow to go for a party. My long lost classmate has invited us over and is paying for everything. We have something to do after all”
On hearing the news, Mike screamed for joy and pulled his mother to his embrace once more.
Fast-forwarding to what you see in the photo, was a Christmas Evening in the city.
Let’s just say that Mike’s prayers were heard and he had unforgettable memories this year. He made new friends and acquaintances and gave his sister the present she wanted that year.
Returning with the Christmas tree, Mike had a lot of feelings, some known and others yet to be discovered.
When Mae caught up to Mike she smiled and said “It’s weawy starting to yook a yot like Cwistmas (it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas).
Mike turned to Mae and saw her wearing the biggest smile on her cute little face and with a whisper to nobody in particular, he said “Thank you so much God”
