Well that post has certainly been hammered into non existence, it's rubbed many people up the wrong way and has received a devastating backlash because of it.
But, I also think it is only fair and right that people give @steemcommunity the chance to explain what happened, what went wrong and how they are going to correct it. I have kept up with @abh12345 for a very long time and I really like Asher - he does really good work in the community, produces some amazing stats from the Blockchain and is generally the nicest most genuine person you would ever meet online. He doesn't deserve what is basically turning into a Witch Hunt in the comments of that post, and I really do not think knee jerk backlashes that I see popping up over posts more and more do anything for Steemit.
Thanks buddy, very nice of you to say the above.
We'll have an update on it soon enough.
As I've stated here and elsewhere, we reap what we sow. It was, at best, irresponsible to publicly announce such a site before realizing and correcting its obvious problems. I do not think my post is a knee-jerk backlash, and what crosses that line when we're talking about an arbitrary blacklist that was publicly announced on the blockchain? I don't know about any witch hunt, but I would be more concerned if someone I knew and respected did this, not less. If his Witness published that post, he deserves whatever backlash he gets. I'm not going to sympathize with someone who jumps in front of a bus when they get hit by the bus.
I think community response to this sort of thing does a lot more for Steemit than seemingly arbitrary blacklists.
And I don't have a horse in this race. I don't know either of them. But I know I won't be supporting their Witness, because what I've seen today was at best highly irresponsible.
I'm told it was a mistake, that the site wasn't meant to be live - but then why publish announcing it?
I'm told the SQL pulled anyone whose account has been used to create another account, but that is either incorrect or dishonest, because I've created three accounts and all three were through steemit.com and waiting for approval. I'm frankly now concerned about my IP address being accessible to anyone with the proper technical knowledge, which would be a massive security vulnerability in the blockchain or its front-ends.
Just to be completely transparent, I was referring to the comments (and level of ferocity in them) in the post you linked as a Witch Hunt - nothing at all to do with your post - which is stating your feelings and perfectly reasonable and well balanced.
I totally agree with what you are saying, but I just would also like to see a public response from @steemcommunity before I make my own judgement.
people in witness partnerships run the risk of this kind of shit
when prices are low and morale is low you DO NOT do this if you are a supposed leader on here
us minions can taketh away as we giveth,
Well said @battleaxe
