THE COMMUNITY is not even needed here except to be the WORKFORCE producing content to feed "curators" aka: AUTO VOTES/BASIC MONEY SCHEME which is the chain in a nutshell.
If people are going to wait, like you said, (paraphrased as:) until the ship fully sinks, then that's not an intelligent survival plan.
Like you said the community forked away before. More accurately, those in power forked away and the community was left with a very limited choice. Anyone who was anyone that didn't make "the right decision" was punished accordingly.
So to wait for that to repeat again is ridiculous.
Having said that though, there's no real alternative. Blocktrades holds the keys to this operation and he sure is slow playing that development... for maximum financial gain of course. Since a greedy fuck he is.
The other greedy fuck.. agrroed has now suddenly become vocal asking for grassroots support since clearly he isn't as in with the rest power players he as he would like to be.
Anyway the writing is on the wall.
There's nothing coming from anyone here that's going to create an uptrend on user uptake. You're right that the money game dominates and that without it people would act more civil.
However this is crypto.. and the money once saw Steem take off in price and gain many users.
The problem was and still is that the platform is too basic and that's why I point out what I did. There's no innovation at system level (like the embarrassing video element).. and the ones running onboarding like OCD are woefully misguided.

Anyway I think you're a GOOD EGG here I like what you're working on. A few others like peakd are also on a righteous path.. but slow be the development of everything here on Hive. Even Leo are going nowhere really, where once they were moving steadily.
I guess when blocktrades finally gets those core updates finished it will be possibly to actually BUILD something at community level without the few of power players dictating the terms.
If that happens then who cares about the ridiculous ego flex that they play by. It needs to happen before 2022 ends though or else this is just going to be widely realized by how it's already somewhat seen as: that both Steem and Hive aren't the superior "feeless" fast chains that they once claimed as why they're UNDISCOVERED SUPERIOR TECH.
No matter how many times charlatans like taskmaster and theycallhimdan make that claim... it's just not demonstrated objectively.
