Gosh this post really hit me hard and I admire your love and devotion with your grandmother. She seems an awesome lady.
I never knew mine unlike my sister who regale me with talks of how great our grandmother is. She was hit by dementia as well and my sisters cried as they saw her frustrations of not remembering.
thank you for checking out my post @maverickinvictus :) demenita is really hard to deal with for everyone involved.. it was so hard when it got to the point where she didn't even know who I was.. it was soul crushing - sorry to hear you didn't get a chance to meet your grandmother <3
