Hey everyone, at the beginning I would like to welcome you all to my new contribution and hope you have a week so far which has brought some interesting experiences into your life! Here I would like to share an experience with you which I made on my trip in Romania and hope you like my contribution.
Dracula should be known to pretty much everyone and there are numerous myths and legends that revolve around this personality which has developed into a model in many novels or legends, but it's not a fictional person and the traces can be traced back to a real person. In fairy tales, Dracula is a vampire who goes in search of victims at night whose blood he can suck out and has supernatural powers and when it comes to stories about vampires, this is probably the best known, which is popular worldwide. Even if there is probably a lot of discussion in this regard, it's assumed that Dracula is the nickname of the ruler Vlad III who lived during the 15th century, however, his existence leaves many questions open and even if there are numerous traces, it is not entirely clear when or how he died. There are different views on the nickname and some are of the opinion that it could be derived from the Romanian word Drac which means devil while others are convinced that it refers to the Latin term Draco for dragon.
His father was already a member of a well-known dragon order and therefore this meaning makes sense, but there are also strong connections to occultism here and he was also sometimes considered a direct descendant of the devil, which is probably also connected with his strict reign. He is probably considered one of the strictest rulers of the country and when he or his ideology was in the way, he used aggressive methods and had his opponents violently get out of the way. During his lifetime there were various military conflicts, but it must also be mentioned to come back to the legends that a lot of fiction has been created and of course a lot of potential has been discovered in the field of marketing to change certain things and to invent things. Even if the real Dracula is not supposed to have drunk blood, there are also some horror fairy tales that claim that he probably had red tears of blood, but it's not like in the legends that he would need blood as an elixir to live.
It remains open to everyone how someone comes to the castle and of course there is the possibility to make a own transfer, but I decided to join a travel group which was a good idea because I could save myself the queueing at the ticket office. Originally, the castle was to be built as a Defence spot, which is why it was built on a rock and because of the central location the people had a good view of the surrounding area and was protected from both enemy spy's and attackers. The castle did not always had this form and over the centuries it was remodelled more often and the owner changed and the exact history unfortunately leaves many questions unanswered and to this day, it's not entirely clear who the original architect is. Inside there are some small museums that go into more detail on the history and I enjoyed my trip very much, but I would like to mention again that it's one of the sights of the country which are extremely well attended and it must be expected that people have to wait at the ticket office and people with claustrophobia could also have problems here because it is very tight inside in some places.
Many thanks for the visit and I hope you could learn something new about this important place! I captured these pictures with my Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens.
You have truly earned your reward for this post. <3 :P
Thanks for your sign of appreciation :)
I actually love the way they build this castle
I feel the same way!

One thing I like about old places is the stories it has. Even if some are made up, it still gives a certain character vibe to the place.
Romania is a great place to visit, maybe when I visit I'll bump into Andrew Tates lol
It’s generally such an underestimated country that has so much to offer.
you're damn right about that. An absolute awesome place

That's a famous castle, it's a must to visit in Romania, i heard Vlad used to impale his enemies and from that came the Dracula story... Is it really claustrophobic?
I can only agree with that! There are so many creepy legends and it's exciting to see what is true and what fiction. Well, it depends on how many people are currently visiting it and when there is a lot going on, people are very restricted and there are corridors where you can hardly get through.

Dracula in movies is usually a vampire
I’m surprised that there is actually a real person who bears Dracula or King Vlad III
Nice!
That was also interesting for me before I wrote the article, I already thought that some only know the fictional personality.
Hahahaha
Nice tour on the Dracula’s castle. With the knowledge I have about Dracula, am not sure I would have loved to stay in that castle😂😂
Hehe I can understand that well :) Maybe that's why it would be worth a visit to link fiction with reality.
Yea
Right?
I like the fiction around Dracula a lot. I have read many stories and watched a lot of movies and shows about it.
Still, I did not know that it goes back to a real person.
If you already have something connected with it, I can recommend you in any case to put it on your travel list and learn more about the real vlad.

Wow the history behind this castle is horrific 🙈😂
Thanks for your comment :)
Grate article! I love to know the stories behind the building and places. Best regards 🤗
Reading words like this is a great motivation for me and I am happy to see that you are also interested in culture.
Thanks, best regards🤗
Not that it's a bad thing but this castle gained way too much popularity amongst other parts of Romania, as well as castles. Romania is a lot more than this castle, and it's so sad to see people coming from abroad just for this exclusively when lots of other cool places are waiting to be discovered as well! ❤️
That's probably true! I also visited Brasov in addition to Bucharest and it was definitely a unique experience. I have learned that the northwestern part also offers some breathtaking things. Maybe you also have one or the other insider tip for a visit to Romania? I would be happy if you share this :)
I think every part of the country has something unique. I've spent my last 15 years taking yearly roadtrips that would last between 7 to 20 days to explore less-known parts of Romania, and it's very hard for me to share tips about it as there are really so many places popping in my head right now. However, what is less known and less crowded with tourists is always a go-to for me. :)
Yes, it is usually so that each area has its own unique things, fully agree with that. Wow, that’s great that you’ve seen pretty much all facets of the country. I was here for the first time and was fascinated! Have a great weekend :)
Thank you! Hope you have a great weekend too, or what is left from it! :)
i want to wear that armor suit.
Great to see that you are so interested in the art of blacksmithing.
Wow, this is awesome! Visiting such a historical and strategic area is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. How does it feel to be inside the castle? Did you get goosebumps?
No I didn't, but I was happy to experience this part of the culture.
