your father sounds like an amazing man to stand up to all the naysayers and support his wife and daughters in a society where that isn't the norm. Your story reminds me of Malala and how she credits her dad for always supporting her and her mother and making sure she was able to get an education and inspiring her to fight for herself. I hope your blog inspires other men who fear backlash or are scared to have a daughter to be brave and strong and support the women in their life.
