Accidental Plants & Such

in #yardplants4 days ago

Beautiful life!

I spent some moments in the yard yesterday morning while the hubby checked on the steering which sounded weird when we were about to leave the driveway. Leaving the Lil Guy inside the car, I jumped out purposely to bask under the bright sunshine.

There, I noticed a few plants were already bearing fruits. One of them was an accidental plant which I think is called Lima beans. I said accidental because we did not plant them. They grew on their own.

But how did they end up here then?

Magic, lol!

Well, sometime last year when we visited Bauko, we bought this type of beans in their market so that must be from it. That will be confirmed when the pods mature. If not, maybe some feathered friends (birds) brought them here.

This is our first time having lima in our yard so we are clueless on how long before we can harvest the fruits. We are not rushing them though.

Just a few steps away is the tomato we brought from the Lil Kingdom which was previously in a pot but I transplanted it in November if my memory serves me right. I'm glad to see it survived and has two lovely fruits, one was almost ripe.

And there's the pineapple too, a few more are in the backyard. They may have grown roots already because this one is turning darker in color, although I think it is screaming it needs water.😅

Another accidental plant is a pumpkin which I initially thought was melon but we haven't had any since we moved here. I don't remember sowing any except for the one I placed in a pot (the hubby already transplanted it two weeks ago farther away from the yard), but maybe he tossed some seeds from the ones we had in the kitchen. That's the logical explanation I could think of or perhaps the birds did it?😅

The thought of having pumpkins spread across the yard wall and bear fruits excites me. We hadn't had this plant before so we will learn through this one.

The French bean wasn't accidental because I intentionally sowed several over the last few months and most didn't make it through. We love beans so I wouldn't give up sowing some more. This one was just recently and with the weather improving, I hope it will thrive.

I was to move to where the others were to check on them when I got distracted by the shadows of tiny grass and such (I will share them soon, no doubt about that😅) then the hubby called out saying it was time to roll. So yep, we headed out!

I like to think of the birds bringing you seeds to surprise you with new plants, even if their delivery method is maybe not something to think on LOL

Lots of exciting stuff here— I really like making soup with pumpkins so that one would probably thrill me the most! You must have a really interesting climate to be able to grow pineapples AND more cold weather plants?

I've been dying to go get my hands in some dirt lately, so your post made me smile 💚

I love the birds even more should they be the culprits for these, lol!

Pumpkin soup is heavenly :)

We only have a dry and wet season (mostly cold here in our mountainous region) so any plant can thrive, although there are certain plans we can't seem to grow successfully (i.e. cucumbers, etc).

Thank you and glad you smiled out of this 😍

I loved the tomatoes most, they look so juicy already and In a few days from now, they should be ready for the table.

Yes :) Although they are but two pieces, haha

it's funny, as we age plants and gardens are a massive thing. First thing I did when I got back from holiday was check on my apple trees.

That's very true. Aging seems to make us find joy in the little things :)

It's awesome that you have apple trees. I can only wish for one, lol!

i have two and a lemon and orange tree

That's fantastic! We have lemon and orange trees in the other place but have yet to grow them here.

It’s amazing how plants can just surprise you like that. Can’t wait to see how the pumpkins and beans turn out to be.! This looks so good my friend.

Thanks, my fren! It will be cool to have them thrive.

Yeah, actually

Lol that's funny all those random born plants, I remember here back in the days we used to had tomatoes coming out of nowhere

For the bean you should wait the plant to start becoming yellow on leaf

It's nice when we find plants around without even sowing them :D

Thanks for the tip about the beans. The leaves are still very green so we will wait :)

Share me the location. I will go there to steal all the fruits of those plants. In first picture it's a tomato but at first glace I felt it was orange just by seeing the color.

😂😂😂😂 I think I have to watch over it for her. 😂

You're free to come whenever you want. We will even give you a truckload of different veggies😜

at first glace I felt it was orange just by seeing the color.

You just reminded me that unlike in the Lil Kingdom, we don't have any citrus fruits here in DD so we must grow at least one!

!PIZZA

They are still growing well kahit Hindi mo sila alagaan Ng mabuti sis. Pero Kung inalagaan mo masyado, namamatay pa😬😁

True yan sis. Kung masyadong pinapansin, namamatay, lol!
