What a multicultural and multilingual community Steemit is becoming. I wonder how many languages are spoken by the Steemit community?
I started this ‘Hello’ doodle by drawing different ways of saying hello, or informal greetings, in different languages. Can you find your language on here?
Video 32 seconds long
So far I have included:
Chinese
Dutch , German
English
French
Italian
Korean
Russian
Spanish
Swedish
Vietnamese
The painting isn’t finished yet, this is just the base layer before the embellishment. There is still plenty of room to add more languages so if you speak a different language and it’s not included then tell me. Write in the comment section how to say hello in your language (by 9am GMT) and I will add it.
You don't speak a different language? Then please feel free to leave me a comment below referencing the work of Lionel Richie.

Include portuguese!! A stunning language
Olá !
Obrigado!
Well Salut is also in Romanian, so you don't have to add another :)
Salut @anca3drandom !
Yes!
We should develop a steemit only way to say 'hello', something like ∫∫∫ello ...!
Or just in minion Bello!
Chao is Vietnamese for Hello, Ni Hao is Chinese, "wudup, big dawg" is tee-emese.
I put in xin chào for Vietnamese , is it just chao?
Conversational Vietnamese is just chao followed by a title or name. For example, Chao, anh! One would say to a man . Chao, em is for a woman. Chao ba for father, etc.
Cool. This is why it's better to talk to people who speak the language than rely on the internet!
I was married to a Vietnamese woman for 6 years. I know all the basics, and an advanced understanding of the curse words.
Yes it is amazing what the translation book or internet will describe vs local language!
What a fun and cool post!
mine is Spanish, so hola!!
hola @gvargas123 !
Olá!
Olá @riscadox!
wow amazing images you and cool
great art as always @opheliafu in Russian hello looks like ПРИВЕТ :)
Yikes, that's going to take a bit of concentration writing that tomorrow!
Hi my language is Afrikaans
our greeting is the same as the Dutch one
Hallo
Cool, thanks for expanding my knowledge :D
Plus, it's great to know the range of languages spoken on Steemit!
Hmmm maybe we can use this?
Mmmm maybe we can ;D
Would be interesting to see how many different nationalities are using Steemit. Great idea. Hopefully it will expand by quite a few more words.
There is plenty of room on the paper!
OK:)
I like it! getting the world involved!
So cute :)
Faltou olá em português
Do you think it could be an issue with the majority of the whales being English speakers? I imagine non-English speakers will always find it difficult to get high rewards for content both in their home tongue and in broken English.
Ideally in my opinion, everybody would be able to create content in their own language, attracting others who speak their language, and still have the chance to be rewarded by a whale.
@serejandmyself and some others are working on a project that may help with this. You might want a look at his posts.
Very interesting post!
Thank you
Hola @opheliafu Im latino so Im glad you already got the spanish down. Muchisimas gracias for eso :)
Hola@andressilvera!
You are probably one of the few people who will appreciate my excitement and anticipation this morning... I'm waiting for a new roll of Fabriano to arrive... and some new brushes! :D :D :D
Nice doodle!
Though "hej" can be used as informal greeting in polish language I guess more accurate would be "cześć".
Right, so I'll put cześć on there as well. The more the merrier!
try add Japanese
I did have a look, I wasn't too confident at writing it. こんにちは .. but it would go vertically , yes?
I could just write Kon'nichiwa !!
Great idea @kyleb15
A great idea!
I am now following your posts!
Blessings~*~
