Benford Guitars in the USA. I got to know Steve Benford via the Six String Bliss podcast and forum. I got to play a couple of guitars he made and decided I'd like one for myself. You can see it on the site.I had a couple of ideas for this, but then I realised that as well as this being #Inktober today is #TeleTuesday, so why not draw a guitar that's precious to me. I had this made by
Here's my rendition of it.
I just put new strings on this and my Taylor acoustic. I'm very lazy about that and it's actually a first string change for each guitar! They seem to last fairly well for me. I used some D'Addario strings and saw they had a recycling scheme that gives you points you can trade for products. That sounded great, but you have to send at least 2lb weight of strings and it's USA only. I don't know if there are any UK schemes, but I'll save up my strings anyway. They can go to the local metal recycling as a last resort.
My previous efforts:
- Day 1: Poisonous
- Day 2: Tranquil
- Day 3: Roasted
- Day 4: Spell
- Day 5: Chicken
- Day 6: Drooling
- Day 7: Exhausted
- Day 8: Star
Draw on!

That was obvious. One of my friends told me an anecdote about a seventies bass guitar player who had a fantastic funky sound - rattling and distorted in the perfect way. The other bass players was very keen to know the secret, but none of them could get a straight answer from him... just as if he didn't know. Then one day one of the other bass-players asked him how often he changed the strings on his 30 year old bass, and he said: "Are you supposed to change the strings?"
I know some pros change them for every show. I'm a little lazy, but I got for good quality strings that last well
Didn't know you had to change them that often! I play the piano and those string stay where they are.
New strings have a brighter sound that some people love and some find their sweat corrodes them quicker.
Is a lovely idea to draw something that is precious to you, of course a guitar makes most sense :) And is lovely by all means

That's a good idea for precious @steevc. I haven't done that one yet I'm still trying to catch up but getting closer and closer.
Fun isn't it? 😁
Oh yes. I'm not looking ahead too much at the topics. Need to think about today's now
