The Power Duo: How BlackRock and Vanguard Shape Policies and Politics

in #blackrocklast year

Hey Everyone,

This post goes well with the above video, I recommend you watch it. It's not a requirement, just a suggestion.

So, if you're scratching your head trying to wrap your mind around the whole "Shadow Government" thing, don't worry—it's not some wild conspiracy theory. It's actually a pretty straightforward truth about how a tiny group of folks holds all the strings. They control the corporations, they control the politicians, and guess what? They control a whopping one-third of the entire global money pie! And we're not just talking about USD here.

Now, let's take a moment to consider the consequences of these assets and how they are used to control. Picture this: we're gearing up for another election, and our options might just boil down to Trump or Biden. It's impossible to believe these are the best choices. That's because this elite group pulls the puppet strings, manipulating the political landscape and leaving us with limited options. It's like being stuck between a rock and a hard place, with the illusion of choice.

Money talks, and BlackRock and Vanguard have plenty of it. With their fat pockets, they can throw around serious cash for lobbying and political contributions. That kind of financial firepower gives them the ability to sway policies and cozy up to decision-makers. shouldn't we worry about the potential for these moneyed interests to overshadow the voice of the people and compromise our democratic processes?

Also, have you noticed how the media circus manages to steer important national discussions off track? Take the whole Black Lives Matter movement, for example. We're supposed to be having crucial conversations about racial equality and justice, but somehow we end up fixating on trivial stuff like syrup bottle logos. Talk about a distraction tactic! It's like they're waving shiny objects in front of us, diverting our attention from the real issues that need addressing.

When it comes to media, BlackRock and Vanguard have a grip like no other. Their ownership stakes in major media companies mean they have a say in what news hits the headlines and which stories get buried. From shaping narratives to influencing public opinion, they have the power to mold how we perceive the world. But hey, shouldn't we be concerned about the diversity of viewpoints and the potential biases that could come with this level of control?

Oh, and let's not forget those odd corporate moves. Bud Light using Dylan Mulvaney's face on their cans might seem like a cool step towards supporting the transgender community, right? Well, not so fast. Truth is, corporations often play these moves to boost their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scores. It's less about genuine support and more about racking up easy points on the reputational scoreboard. Sneaky, huh?

But wait, there's more! Brace yourself for some financial maneuvering. You see, these big shots not only control the political and corporate arenas but also our hard-earned cash. They've got corporations and politicians wrapped around their little finger, and that includes our 401k investments. The government even dictates what we can invest in, all while pocketing a little kickback. Meanwhile, our funds are tied up for 40 years, and we get back small amounts when we retire. It's like a twisted game where they hold all the cards, and we're left with crumbs.

And if that wasn't enough, let's talk about the Federal Reserve (FED) playing favorites. When the banks face trouble, they come swooping in with bailouts. But guess what? They also have no qualms about raising YOUR interest rates. While the banks get their golden parachute, we're left footing the bill with higher interest payments. It's like the financial system is stacked against us, my friends.

Oh, and here's another trick corporations pull: hiring part-time workers to dodge pesky expenses like health insurance and other employee costs. They know how to play the system to maximize their profits, leaving hardworking folks with the short end of the stick.

So, in a nutshell, this whole shadow government gig has some serious consequences for our society. It limits our choices in elections, throws smoke and mirrors in our faces during important discussions, and manipulates us for corporate gains. Our financial investments are under their control, and they're playing a rigged game with our hard-earned cash. It's time we see through the smoke and mirrors, and realize we have an entire unelected power between us and our law makers.

By no means is this post Political, These people don't care whether you are a Democrat or a Republican or what specific interests you have, they care that you keep fighting with each other and do not look beyond the surface of the debates and don't by any means consider how this interference makes the world seem crazy and the "other guys" scary on both sides of the political isle,

This was an interesting view of Points can be given, points can be taken away!

Yea well pointed out.
There was one guy on some of the crypto podcasts that decided to try solve this in the spirit of the free market by creating a competing hedge fund that will invest in companies that are focused on their sole goal and not on the ESG side of things.

Tha major unknow for me is who decides where the money from our pensions go. I understend bonds in the local country, etc ... but how they choose a hedge fund? I even have investments in these two from my pension fund, and I'm from a tiny country in Europe ... nobody asked me, they just did it...

When the company I worked for went public, I was the Executive Director of Client Services, and prior to the take over if I said we needed to do something for our clients we did it. All I needed was reasonable justification.

When we went public, it took about a week for me to understand our clients were no longer important to the business plan, it was all about the investors, and the story you tell them about the future, daily business just became a tiny metric in the business. We even got rave reviews from Jim Cramer.

Regarding how the funds are selected, it can vary greatly from company to company

What is your opinion on news aggretators such as https://ground.news/

Sites that show you the political leaning of the article and other such metrics? Do you think these are something that can help combat Blackrock leeching into everything or is it just another one of their tools to control the masses?

I hadn't heard of it, but a 5 minute review says that it is just another tool.

To be fair, that's a pretty quick judgement

With separation it's easier to control. While the majority fights for breadcrumbs, they design the show. Have you watched the movie "Thrive"? It's moderated and narrated by Foster Gamble, a descendent of the Proctor & Gamble family. He is not afraid to pull back the curtains and reveal the structure of the system. Very educational film.

I'll have to watch Thrive it sounds very interesting

Well. Thank goodness, we have cryptocurrency now. This should be one of the reasons they are fighting decentralization because the power will be slipping off their hands.

Yes, this is why I was so interested in Steem now Hive, is an opportunity to publish via the blockchain in combination with a currency not issued by the government. Dan L had some lofty goals.

However, 7 years later, I don't think many of the whales really have or support that vision.

Still for a small number of people it can provide a mild sense of participating

This is true o.o but a lot of people aren't awake. This could be due to lack of education or media just poisoning our minds cough cough tiktok etc and even what you mentioned about blowing up different news that are not relevant to change the topic. Good job trying to wake them up lol. They try to make us all puppets but good to see you're awake whatsup :)

I think most people get most of their information from the news and we even see on Hive how some people will defend the media outlets and their narrative to the point of trying to remove anyone who views things differently.

They have a powerful grip, but it's all so easy to see, once you see it.

ya as long as people can think for themselves but with all the stuff coming out lowering our attention spans etc :P we going to keep having people defend the media outlets. Even I see all this war garbage. it's all a play. there's an agenda and that is to move money around firstly and usually probably for resources :D. One thing people don't notice is all the wars are in poor people places. The theory here is they just clearing people that have a lot of debts which sounds sad but it's probably for their good that they are being cleared. well I shouldn't say too much :x later I'm gonna get hate for bringing all this out lol im gonna stop here but I think you get the jist since you pretty awake on this stuff :D

With close to 20 trillion assets under management those two have a stake and a voice everywhere.

The control nearly everything, which is tough for people to digest.

Media, banks, food companies, hotel, airlines, the grammys, medical companies, big pharma and even railways, they pick the winners and the losers, funded with our retirement funds.

This post goes to my heart. I wish many more on this blockchain would see the world from this perspective.

In regards to the elections, you have RFK and DeSantis as candidates as well.

We do have RFK and DeSantis for now, but those same influencers will never allow RFK to be elected they are already smearing him.

DeSantis might have a better chance, because he is more of a typical candidate, and they like him more than Trump
