RE: Getting back into the groove of things.

in #busy6 years ago

I'm almost a month old on Steemit and I realize I still have much to learn yet, but I believe, like in most things, our opinions are influenced a lot from our individual points of few.

Although I totally understand not wanting spammers, to limit too greatly how much valid, new Steemers can post will make any growth for them excruciatingly slow and may discourage people from coming or staying, which it seems would not be good down the line for anyone.

I came with the best of intentions and have spent hours and hours learning and posting and trying to be a good Steemit citizen. That would not have continued to be possible if I had not been fortunate enough to have a friend that chose to delegate enough to me to allow me to continue. I know there will be others who are small that won't have that good fortune and I feel for them.

IMO....I believe it is easier to see it as being all good, if you were already at a level where it didn't affect you so much when the change came.

I wish there was an answer to keeping out spammers without discouraging new, valid people, but unfortunately, I don't know the answer to making that happen.

What us more established users need to do is identify and look after new people who have something to say, and who are likely to put some time and effort into the system. So that is my mission at the moment. With that in mind, I thought your comment was inciteful and well thought out so you have an upvote from me. And I've had a look at your blog, and it's promising: keep up the good work, my friend and don't give up on us!

Thank you for the upvote..... but mostly for hearing me (so to speak) and being willing to help others that may be like me. I appreciate it and I am sure whoever you find worthy to help will appreciate it too.

I think the bigger fish are eventually going to be able to delegate resource credits to other people without having to worry about their actual steem power. This is probably going to be the answer in the near future.

That would be nice if it were easy and somehow beneficial to those that can, to help new people with promise till they can get on their Steemit feet. I can't say at this time that I know what all it takes, but it's somewhat like sponsoring someone and that is not a bad thing. Maybe there should be more good things available for those that do help.

Thank you also for your upvote !

What I did was just keep on powering up everything you own. At the moment the price of steem is pretty low anyway, so unless you are desperate for cash it is worth putting it into steem power. And keep on producing good posts.

I had thought about powering up everything as I go for a while and had asked another friend's opinion about that in the last week. I knew steem was down before I came here and in no way looked at it as a cash benefit for now. I still thought I'd come build what I could in other ways in hopes it will go back to doing better later. Fortunately for me, I make enough from my job to meet my normal needs. Thank you for sharing what has worked for you.
