Things have been kind of hectic the past few days. Not only hectic, but also kind of boring because many of us haven't been able to post for various reasons.

Some people are thinking that Steemit is doomed. I think it's just going to take us some time to get back to normal. Not really normal though.... because things are going to be changing. I think that change is going to be a good thing.
Resource credits.
Not everybody can post as much as they used to. Very small accounts won't be able to post much at all. That is going to be good for dealing with spam and scam users.
The idea is actually quite sound. If you really enjoy posting on the platform, then it only makes sense that you would either have invested some of your own money.... or that you would have posted enough to have earned some Steem and be capable of using that to power your research credits.
However, this is bound to leave at least a few of our users in the lurch. I know that we were not intending to leave all of the minnows and plankton in a bad situation though, and I think that the team has done a fair job of patching things up so that it isn't as restricted for those with less power available.
You are going to find those who now have a lot of negative things to say about both Steem and the team working behind it.
That is only natural. However, we really needed to go through a change in order to move forward. I don't think it is logical to imagine a writing platform that gets millions of users a day. If that was the case, then sales on the Amazon Kindle would be through the roof. Everybody would be reading one at restaurants, and in the airport, and on the street corners. Instead they are looking at their phone and checking Facebook.
It's quick. It's easy. That's what we need to be as well.
A social media blogging platform that is based on cryptocurrency. It can't solely be a writing platform because that is just not enough of a draw for the common person.
There's so many different dapps in the pipeline though. So many that are already functional and so many that are in development. It's only logical to understand that we are absolutely moving in the right direction.
All it takes is to get back into the groove of things. It's not necessarily going to be the same groove, but it's going to be something great. Stay on board. We're headed in a good direction.
I'm almost a month old on Steemit and I realize I still have much to learn yet, but I believe, like in most things, our opinions are influenced a lot from our individual points of few.
Although I totally understand not wanting spammers, to limit too greatly how much valid, new Steemers can post will make any growth for them excruciatingly slow and may discourage people from coming or staying, which it seems would not be good down the line for anyone.
I came with the best of intentions and have spent hours and hours learning and posting and trying to be a good Steemit citizen. That would not have continued to be possible if I had not been fortunate enough to have a friend that chose to delegate enough to me to allow me to continue. I know there will be others who are small that won't have that good fortune and I feel for them.
IMO....I believe it is easier to see it as being all good, if you were already at a level where it didn't affect you so much when the change came.
I wish there was an answer to keeping out spammers without discouraging new, valid people, but unfortunately, I don't know the answer to making that happen.
What us more established users need to do is identify and look after new people who have something to say, and who are likely to put some time and effort into the system. So that is my mission at the moment. With that in mind, I thought your comment was inciteful and well thought out so you have an upvote from me. And I've had a look at your blog, and it's promising: keep up the good work, my friend and don't give up on us!

Thank you for the upvote..... but mostly for hearing me (so to speak) and being willing to help others that may be like me. I appreciate it and I am sure whoever you find worthy to help will appreciate it too.
I think the bigger fish are eventually going to be able to delegate resource credits to other people without having to worry about their actual steem power. This is probably going to be the answer in the near future.
That would be nice if it were easy and somehow beneficial to those that can, to help new people with promise till they can get on their Steemit feet. I can't say at this time that I know what all it takes, but it's somewhat like sponsoring someone and that is not a bad thing. Maybe there should be more good things available for those that do help.
Thank you also for your upvote !
What I did was just keep on powering up everything you own. At the moment the price of steem is pretty low anyway, so unless you are desperate for cash it is worth putting it into steem power. And keep on producing good posts.

I had thought about powering up everything as I go for a while and had asked another friend's opinion about that in the last week. I knew steem was down before I came here and in no way looked at it as a cash benefit for now. I still thought I'd come build what I could in other ways in hopes it will go back to doing better later. Fortunately for me, I make enough from my job to meet my normal needs. Thank you for sharing what has worked for you.
Well said! My feelings exactly!
Too many people are on the Doom and Gloom bus.
As long as the vision is to get the general public involved, and not charge them fees, the vision is workable. I agree that most people would rather chitchat than read a book.
I think the big picture is that nothing much has changed, except for spammers, now that the parameters have been altered. Even the smallest plankton can still post multiple articles or comments, just not thousands, as before. So that's an improvement, at the end of the day. :)
Well I think the big change is going to be towards a social media platform as opposed to a blogging platform.
Very current @jeezzle i do not agree less,i think this upgrade is a step towards the right direction . let us have fun while we enjoy the rest of the year. Thanks for this thought,i alredy upvoted you
I'm glad that you liked it.
