Once again another great idea for a competition. One of my very persisting weakness has always been depression. I dont know how it all started but the major reason for it has always been my rocky relationship with my dad. (I wont go too much in the details as its too personal though). There were days i wake up in the morning feeling really down and sad and even standing up from bed was such a chore for me. There were also days where commiting suicide crosses my mind.

As i grow older, ive come to look for ways to battle my struggle with depression. And i found out that what really helps me a lot in dealing with it is by meditating. Actually there's a study about it that meditation helps a lot with depression. Even though there are still days where i wake up feeling down and depressed, i am now better equipped to deal with it thanks to meditation.

So to all my friends and people here that are struggling with depression, i suggest practicing meditation, its truly helpful and can really do wonders to one's mental health.

Hey man I know that feeling and it takes real guts to acknowledge it. I did meditation and yoga to help alleviate it. Taking to someone without any judgement helps and my best one is writing to exorcist the demons in my head.

I'm sorry to hear that @andywong31, but I'm glad that you have found something that helps you! I've never learned how to meditate but I'm sure it's a great way of clearing your thoughts and feelings. If you ever have these thoughts again, you should write about it. I'm sure many other people can relate and it could also help you and others in the process. You have our support!!
